plus size bride undergarments

shalliwell, on July 13, 2009 at 5:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Hey ladies! need your help here!! my first dress fitting is on July 30 and I need to figure out what to wear under my dress. i do not dress up lots so i like to be comfortable. my dress is quite simple made with french taffeta so its a thick material. its the Maggie Sottero Adrianna.

i'm between a size 14-16 depending on what i am wearing. i am torn between wearing spanx or wearing a boustier or lingerie underneath. i like the idea of spanx to suck me in a bit and then i was just gonna get some lingerie for after and change in to when we go back to our room...what are the rest of you doing? I have to have what i am wearing underneath to bring on July 30...help!!

I am in the same boat. My first fitting is on July 23 and I was also told to bring what I was wearing. I am pretty sure that I am going to have something to help pull things in. I think that they will make me enjoy the pictures more. Then to have something special for later. Good luck on deciding.

Hello and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

You should wear what you will be wearing on your wedding day, so you know how it will feel and look.

The spanx or the boustier would work best. It will depend on how you are shaped when you pick which one to wear. I suggest trying both types on and then decide.

You could do a bustier, then the bottom sucking spanx!! Then slip into your lingerie in the bathroom on you rwedding night!! I looked at your dress and it looked pretty for fitting on the bottom..spanx could probaly help there!

If you get a bustier that fits properly, they can be quite comfortable. The comfortable ones are a little more pricey though, and so totally worth it because it is something you can wear after the wedding. The look really nice under a jacket or a nice shirt.

I am going to wear a corset under my dress. In my opinion, corsets are for far more comfortable then bustiers. Corsets provide full support, they stay in place, they suck you in and they are SEXY!

Fredericks's of Hollywood has the most beautiful corsets, top of the line and most of them come in plus sizes. This is what I'm wearing...

I have a Maggie Sottero dress, too! She really does have beautiful dresses!

I am planning on wearing a spanx under my dress with a strapless bra. I have tried it on with that undergarment and it looks great!

Well, I'm a size 20 and I got some spanx the other day and honestly, I was not impressed with them. Yeah, they "firm" you up so you do not jiggle, but they do not suck in like I thought they would! I am thinking of doing the old fashion gridle and the spanx. Corsets won't work with my dress
