Plus Size Bride Looking for Plus Size Bridal Underwear

Jennifer, on August 17, 2016 at 2:37 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30

Hi!

So I just started the process of getting my dress! and it is super beautiful! I have posted a picture of me below here. So I am pretty positive that based on the dress, that I won't need crinolines because it does have tule underneath and is poofy. However, I am having a tough time trying to find and or decide on where to find or what to get for a bra and or a corset? I have looked a lane bryant. Is there any where else I can look? Thank you!

It is a super beautiful wedding gown, Jennifer. You look so happy in it -- no doubt, it's the one for you. Congrats.

As all brides know, what's under the gown can make or break your bridal look. You're smart to realize that this is an important subject. You have a bridal consultant at the salon selling you the gown. She should have several suggestions for you, and if she doesn't have them on hand, then she should speak to her colleagues and get some good referrals.

Remember, your consultant is invested in more than pulling gowns and helping you get into them. He/She wants you to look and feel perfect. If she seems clueless, just ask to speak to a manager. An individual managing a bridal salon -- one that should be catering to ALL women -- should have this info at her fingertips.

Jennifer, please be wary of any input that leads you to Asian knock off sites, like JJHouse. Here's the first line of text when you google them, "Buy 2016 newest style for wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and prom dresses at the wholesale cheap price. Be wonderful for your big day!"

Please, stick with those who you can speak to face to face, know how to properly fit you, and who can guide you to the correct products.

Depending on where you are, look for specialty lingerie stores - not Victoria's Secret, but smaller, maybe independent ones. That's where I got mine (a place called Top Drawer Lingerie).

You might be able to check Torrid, but they may/may not have something.

The first place I would go is the store that you got your dress. As others mentioned, they will know what works best with the dress and should have all sizes. Another option is to google "long line bra-your size" this should bring up stores that carry them. You can then look at reviews and get the one that works best for you and your dress.

Dillards! I went in and told them my situation with my wedding dress that I NEEDED something to hold me up and make me look good at the same time. The lady that fitted me knew exactly what I needed! They are amazing there!

You look stunning and so happy! I bought the stuff for under my dress from David's bridal, so as others suggested I'd try the bridal shop.

Lady grace online catalog is amazing. Bra sizes goes up and it holds whatever u need in and supports your breasts. I think they have sexy things to wear on your big day. That's where I'm getting my stuff from

I also recommend Lady Grace; I've gotten things from them in the past, and they're always of good quality for a decent price.

Talk to your alterations people before buying. I bought a longline and ended up returning it--the dress was better with no bra because it has boning built into it. I haven't gone without a bra since I was 13 years old so that advice shocked me, but she was right. So....talk to your seamstress first.

I got my dress at Davids Bridal and I loved the corset they had me try with it. It felt secure and comfortable which is hard to find in my size. I agree that you should talk to your seamstress or whoever you're buying the dress from and then from there research some of the places people have mentioned if needed Smiley smile

I got my long line bra from Nordstrom's I had to order a couple but their customer service was great and helped me out along the way. Your bridal salon should also be able to help you order a bra but they can be more expensive.
