Plus size boudoir photos

FutureMrsKnight, on January 15, 2016 at 3:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

I know a lot of you ladies have done a boudoir shoots. My photographer called me today and offered me free session. She's trying to build up her portfolio and wants to do a positive body image "campaign" I have thought about doing one but with my size (size 22) I'm nervous. So I was wondering if some of the plus size or jus anyone that's done them could give me some advice. Do you regret doing it at all? What would you do different? What did you wear? Stuff like that. Thanks.

Following! I've been seeing ads on Facebook all day about boudoir shoots and I kinda want to do one for FH but I'm a size 24/26 so I'm super nervous.

Yandy.com has some affordable lingerie. I regret absolutely nothing about my boudoir shoot, it is definitely worth it. Keep in mind they will do a lot of editing and if your photographer is experienced they will have you in positions that are the most flattering for you. I am a very private person and thought I would be very uncomfortable taking pictures in pretty much my underwear but my photographer made me feel so beautiful. I had four outfit changes, first I wore the bustier that I wore with my wedding dress and white bikini type underwear with my veil. Second outfit was a teddy with a thong. Third outfit was the same thong with a bejeweled bra and a leather jacket. Last outfit was my DH football jersey and some knee high socks. The pictures she took were so AMAZING!! It is definitely worth it and you won't regret it!

ETA: I left the shoot thinking I probably didn't look that great, but when she sent me the proofs boy was I wrong! It was very empowering to see myself look so confident especially in so little clothing.

I did one with my photographer. She has these 'mini sessions' she does every so often. I was super nervous (being a size 24), but she made me feel so comfortable in my own skin. If you do, do one and you have areas that you are less than in love with let her know. A good photographer can make anyone look fabulous.

@Nicolette I go for Cacique by Lane Bryant. They have some very sexy stuff that is super flattering. LB has really updated and modernized. Give'em a look. P.S. I am 44G and can still find stuff there.

Doing a boudoir shoot made me feel amazing about my body. If you have a good photographer then they'll know the best angles get and the best way you should sit and lay down. At the beginning of the shoot my photographer asked me about areas that I did not want to focus on (thighs!) and the ones that I did (butt, boobs, stomach). Honestly, it's really empowering to feel that sexy. And there's no way you're not going to feel sexy in a comfortable setting, wearing beautiful lingerie, and getting photos taken.

    I LOVED mine.

I felt amazing during the whole thing, and the images are just stunning.

I wore everything that I got from my shower (a classy long white nightgown, a full coverage bra and panty set, and then the foxers and strapless I was going to wear the day of the wedding.)

(Also used one of his dress shirts as a prop...it didn't fit me, too small to wear.)

If your photographer is good, they will know angles that are flattering, poses that are flattering, and have a plan. You should look at some images so if you have any poses you want to do, you can!

I don't know where to get plus sized lingerie, but I can tell you that a have some extra... Luggage around my belly area. I went up 4 sizes since Ian and I started dating 3 years ago, so I was also worried. I bought a lace flowy dress on Amazon for $15, I purchased props like a feather fan and feather boa to hide my stomach. My photographer put me in positions that flattered me and she did a lot of Photoshop to get rid of my second chin. Which I've even had when I was 72 pounds! Think of getting some props and look up some flattering poses that's stretch out your body. Pinterest is a great idea too!

@silesha that's exactly what I was thinking. I told FH I was doing one. I didn't give him any details past that and he said he can't wait either. :-)

Thank you! Just go for it! I waited months because I wanted to lose weight first. I ended up gaining another 10 lbs instead and said F it.

I did this style session for my now fiancé for his birthday one year. He loved the photos. My photographer made me feel very comfortable. Poses were very flattering. I purchased my outfits at Torrid.
