Plus ones for kids

Would you give a 18 year cousin a plus one to your wedding, when they still live at home and their entire family will be at the wedding? I personally dont see the need

An 18 year old isn't a kid. If they're single and attending with their family, no, I wouldn't give them a plus one. If they're in a relationship, that's not a plus one, and I would invite their s/o.

An 18 year old who just graduated and lives at home and pays no bills, is someone i consider a kid. Just because someone is 18 does not make them an adult.
Im just wondering because some people are saying we should or we shouldnt. Well then im like what about a 16 or 17 year old with a boyfriend. Like you have to draw the line somewhere

Yeah, the line is 18 years old. They're an adult whether you see it that way or not. They can get married, so would you still consider them a child and not invite their partner at that point?

That same thing happened to me. You have to decide if it’s in your budget, and it depends on the length of their relationship. I’m going to be giving a plus one to my 18 y/o cousin, because they have been together a little more than one year.

I am giving a plus one to my sisters 18 year old stepson. If you are dating someone and are 16 and over and live local I gave them plus one. Any one out of HS gets a plus one.

Were planning for 12k. Unfortunately by giving everyone is 18 or older a plus one, that wouldnt be in our budget at all.
We are already at a guest list of 170 and i think thats to much. I think we will only end up giving these 18 year olds plus ones if they are still together by the time of the wedding

If they are over 18 and in a relationship when invitations go out then both people should be invited by name.

If they are in a relationship I would give them a plus one. My 17 year old cousin who is invited is getting a plus one for his girlfriend even though his entire family will be invited as well. Him as well as his brother and sister (21 and 23) will each be getting plus ones. As PP have said an 18 year old is an adult so they deserve the same as any other adult.

We didn't give plus ones to anyone living at home with their parents.

We gave plus ones to all the 18+ single cousins, regardless of where they live, and not one of them has taken us up on it. We did know that none of them were really dating anyone going into it, too. Otherwise, that person would have been invited by name.
