Plum Pretty Sugar Robes - Shocked by the Quality

mel, on June 19, 2017 at 1:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I ordered a Plum Pretty Sugar robe from Poshmark. I am so glad I didn't pay the retail price of $60-70. It's basically made out of a 250 thread count sheet. Their site says the robe is made of cotton voile, which they described as "a very delicate fabric. " I didn't fully research their robes, I just see their ads everywhere, they're always featured in posts on wedding sites, etc. and for the price I just assumed it was a semi-luxurious kimono robe.

Just throwing this out there incase anyone's like "ooh I wanna splurge on a PPS robe!" You may be surprised when you get it in the mail...

It's not very soft, the sleeves are laughably wide and long. I know kimono sleeves are wide, but since the fabric is the equivalent of a bedsheet it's too thick and doesn't lay right. Same with the sashing, tied tightly there is no shape. A satin or other softer thin fabric would cinch in at the waist.

The belt loop is also very large. Overall something is just "off" and I'm glad I didn't pay full price and/or buy a set for my BMs. The quality is more on par with Target but at 3x the price.

OP--I had a plum pretty robe from a friends wedding and also hated for those reasons. Couldn't believe all the hype around it.

I ordered from Divine Bridal on etsy because I wanted cottony (not satin) robes for my girls. They were like $20ish bucks and worked great--everyone liked them. and they laid/fit how I expected them to- Granted at 20$ they aren't the highest quality and I did have them swap one out because the seams weren't done right on 1 of the 11 I ordered, and they did without issue.

I was just going to post about this. I live near their store so I drove to see the robes in person this weekend before buying since they don't allow returns. After seeing them in person, I ordered from etsy instead. The prints are gorgeous, but the robes are poor quality for the price. Every single one I tried on (except Lambkin for $76) was totally see-through regardless of the color! And it's not a soft fabric at all; it's a super cheap, thin cotton.

P.S. They definitely do remove negative reviews online. Mine was already removed.

@Lyla wow! I didn't realize they don't accept returns! Like I said, I didn't thoroughly research them because I knew at that price it was doubtful I'd buy one for myself and I definitely wouldn't be able to buy them for my 5 BMs. I decided to see what was available on poshmark and offered $15 and the seller accepted it. It's fine for $15 but I would definitely not pay $65.

That's disgusting that they remove negative reviews but I'm not surprised, it's a practice that's prevalent. Not ethical though.

I got myself and my bridesmaids Pretty Plum Sugar robes from their You Are Loved collection. Ours were really soft and comfy, but they are super thin (and obviously very overpriced). My sister wore leggings under hers because she didn't feel like there was enough coverage and they don't overlap well like you want a robe to, they kind of just fell into a line in the middle. I definitely had to adjust it a lot!

I got mine last minute from Pretty Robes. Really happy with the way my robes came out. I ordered customized robes so it's a little different than what Pretty Plum Sugar is offering but I compared pricing and couldn't pass. I would recommend them if you need a quick turnaround and if you're not looking to spend more than 20-25 per robe depending on if you customize them!

Pretty Robes. Quality was incredible and price was $24 per robe. I got floral bliss and blush robes which was next level amazing.
