This may be a dumb question.. but I’m not exactly Sure. The picture below is my plate settings
For the wedding , would I purchase clear plastic plates for dinner or would I use the glass plates ? I’m using small clear plates for Cake & salad.

What ever fits your budget and style. I am using heavy duty disposable plastic plates.

We are having a served buffet (due to Covid), so we are just putting Chargers on the table so guests don’t have to carry their plates to the buffet. When they come back to their seat, they’ll put their plate on the charger. It completely depends on how you are doing food and your budget. As a guest, I wouldn’t want to carry my plate over to a buffet and hold it while standing in line to get good, especially since I have two kids that I would be holding their plates too otherwise they’d undoubtedly get broken.

Yea that makes sense we’re having seated dinner , so I didn’t know if the plates would just be away until dinner & only chargers on the table or if we set them up and put a disposable plate on top 😓🤦🏻‍♀️

If your dinner is plated, then you let the caterer worry about plates. You could keep the chargers though. What plates are they using? If you have glass for the salad, it would be consistent to stick with glass or china rather than plastic.

For a buffet, even in non-pandemic times, all plates should be at the buffet table with a new plate for each trip to adhere to strict food safety laws.

Ok gotcha so I will only put out the chargers on the table & leave whatever plate type we decide on with the food , we hired famous Dave’s bbq for catering so I’m not even sure the type of the plate they provide so I’m purchasing plates and silverware separate. Thank you

Typically restaurant catering will provide heavy duty Chinet type plates or heavy duty plastic.
