I'm torn because I feel like plated dinner adds a nice touch to the wedding.. however, buffet dinner seems more convenient! Buffet dinner would include a salad, two entrees (guest can have either or both), one vegetable, a starch and dinner rolls. I really just want to be sure everyone has plenty to...

I really just want to be sure everyone has plenty to eat! I also don't want it to change the level of elegance I would like in my reception. When I hear buffet I keep thinking Golden Coral haha.

Thoughts??

I've gone to lots of weddings, done both ways. Personally, my preference is plated. I think it is more elegant, and allows your guests to sit back and be served rather than waiting for the DJ to call their table up to the buffet, where inevitably things will run out and people will feel rushed. A normal sized wedding meal is plenty of food - especially because they also normal are served with a salad course and bread.

Plated. Always plated. Buffets are never cute or fun. If you are the last person up, it NEVER looks super fresh and is always super picked over. And since I have a food allergy it is a nightmare for me. And even if you have 2 lines and both sides of the table, it still is standing in a line if you have more than like 40 people.

You, your wedding party, the guests, venue, and decor will be what makes the reception elegant. You can 100% have a buffet and still have an elegant wedding.

Plated is more expensive for us, but I prefer the formal options. We’d also have to setup in another room if we did buffet & I wanted the overall reception to be more organized. We may have up to 150 guests..plated just seemed like the way to go.
