Plastic champagne flutes and water goblets?

Jocelyn, on February 28, 2020 at 2:11 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

So i ordered plastic flutes and goblets for my tables beacuse i just cant justify spending $600 for them (300 for each) but im scared that it will look cheap and weird in pictures. Have any of you done this and if so can you share pictures?

I ordered all my dinnerware from Amazon because we have a tight budget for our wedding. I got it off of Amazon and all the plates, silverware, glasses, etc. look great! If you search fancy plastic, you will find a lot of options. My plastic plates looked extremely nice and durable.

We got all plastic drink ware for our wedding. Glass would have been more expensive and also then there would have been a lot of cleaning to do.

We were gifted glass champagne flutes by my aunt. Here's a pic of ours in focus and one with the plastic flute in focus:

Can you tell the difference? Yeah. Does it look really awful and cheap? I don't think so. You can tell the difference in shape more than the difference in material.

I used gold glitter champagne flutes for my semi-formal NYE party and they looked great and were very reasonably priced. Added bonus you toss them after the wedding.

I saw some lovely classy plastic ware for food and drink and silverware items online which I plan to use, because I want to spend on other things like great food and our signature cocktails, which will memorable.

Honestly it costs more to buy then to rent. I originally wanted to purchase plastic champagne flutes, water goblets, and linen napkins, but the total would cost me more to buy than it would be to rent. So I decided I would just cut the hassle of ordering and preparing everything myself and just have it already done and ready to go. I know it's costly, but I would rent rather than buy because it does look a little cheap. We attended a wedding that used plastic everything and it was a bit tacky. Then again, it depends on the mood of the wedding. If your wedding is casual, go with plastic, if not, do splurge as it makes a huge difference. I hope this helps!
