We didn’t. We were the only ones getting married and the only ones paying, we made all of the decisions.

Caytlyn thanks for your response. We have not asked for financial contributions. I thought I wanted to make it a family affair. Not really a good idea.

We spoke with our families to let them have a word of advice, then we made the decisions we thought best.
We were also super lucky, our parents were happy to help when asked, but were not pushy or inclined to think of this as their wedding.
Sometimes, it's best to give each family *one* thing to influence, to appease everyone.
