Hi fellow brides and brides-to-be! Our wedding isn't until next May but so far I have booked our venue for the ceremony and reception, our caterer, and our photographer just to get an idea of how much money I have to spend. I'm getting a lot of snarky comments from people saying that I'm planning too early. I'm not sure if it's because I'm overly sensitive or that they're right. I think I'm just anxious about the whole thing. I have a very strict budget and by planning this sixteen months early I feel like I have a better idea of how much I want to save every month. Any thoughts or comments?

Its 100% not too early, our venue books out 1.5-2 years in advance. Our wedding is next May too and we have had everything booked since before Covid-19. Now we don't have to worry about anything, we locked in this years prices and now that so many weddings are getting postponed all the weekend dates will probably be taken (which is obviously totally understandable.) We are saving and paying everything off, no hassle and no stress. Keep planning. Like some ladies said, people really don't realize how far everything wedding related books out and how much money it really costs. Good luck!

Definitely not too early. Our wedding is next May as well and I’ve paid our photographer, booked our venue and our DJ. I’ve also been making sure I’ve got all the tiny details in a row and I don’t forget anything. No stress cuz I’m taking my time, so take your time with no stress.

Staying ahead of the game is the best right now. A lot of Weddings have been cancelled due to COVID19 Lockdown and about 75% of the Weddings are being rescheduled to next year. So the reality is everyone in the Wedding Industry are going to be booked earlier that usual. If your Wedding is in the Maryland, Washington DC area, feel free to reach out to me and I can help you plan with Decorations and DJ.

Never too soon. The only thing that it may be too soon for might be a dress. It gives you plenty of time to save, truly make decisions and not feel pressured. It gives you plenty of time to figure everything out. Plus with Covid Many people had to push their weddings out. It’s good that you’re locked in, because next season will be getting double the amount of brides. You also won’t have to worry about fighting over photographers or djs you want that may already be booked. My planning was one year and a half, and a few family members made comments, but then this whole Covid thing happened And now one of my cousins that made a comment is in fact pushing her wedding out until next year, so do you ever feel weird about planning ahead of time. Plus the excitement of planning has been amazing. I want us to last for as long as possible.

I am getting married next September. Since I am not working or doing anything right now, I have booked the venue, florist, and dj. You can't be to prepared since a bunch of weddings are being postponed till next year due to the quarantine. The vendors that you want might not be available. Better to be safe then sorry I always say.

I have had one person make those comments. Same person that makes all the comments that stress me out. I started planning 14 months out and very budget conscious. Do you and your fiance feel comfortable planning your wedding now? That's what counts.

Where are you getting married ? If you are feeling like you jumped the gun with everything going on, then just take a deep breathe and don't plan anymore until you are ready. I did everything so early because, some brides are moving their weddings to 2021. I just wanted to be safe and not worry about anything. I also made a list of what I can also wait on and what I need to do right away.
You also might not want to wait to long because some vendors might be gone by the time you are prepared.

My wedding is in 2022 and I’m already pricing and booking. It’s a financial decision. I want to make sure that we budget properly from now until then.

Hello Bride to be! I am getting married in February 2022 and everyone is getting on me about planning too early and yet the professionals are telling me most brides plan two to three years for a wedding and that brides need to plan everything earlier with covid going on! So plan on and then you can relax and not stress!!

I seem to be on track to be like you lol. I was nervous I was planning too early too so when I saw this post I got nervous!!! No one else is planning like I am. Doing October 2022 and already have my big ticket venue/vendors because they said they were filling up (one had my date already) so I got scared into booking them all
