We haven't combined anything yet and he doesn't seem interested in doing so. We've been living together for over 3 years and we have just divvied up the bills instead of splitting them. e.g.: Power bill is in my name and I'm in charge of the thermostat, water and garbage are in his name and he manages those. The only thing we split is rent, I just transfer my half into his account every month.

For the most part this works great, but last year he got some medical debt and I got a raise and he doesn't want me to help him with those bills. I tried telling him that once we get married those medical bills will be mine as well, so it's pointless to try to keep that type of thing separate, but he's still not interested.

    ¯\_("/)_/¯

I honestly don’t know if we will combine finances. If we do anything, it will be a joint account for household bills, and we will keep our separate accounts. Right now he just pays me cash, then I pay the bills. I’m very particular with my finances and most divorces end due to financial stress- so I don’t see the point of putting that burden on us. Plus he has his hobbies: hunting, fishing, etc.. and I rather not know what he spends on it 🤷‍♀️ Lol As long as our bills are paid I’m happy. And if either of us get into a bind we communicate and help each other out.
