Planners - mother of bride & maid of honor

Meghan, on September 12, 2020 at 12:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Do you have any recommendations on planners for mother of the bride & maid of honor?

Looks for ones that are not digital prints and around $25.
Thank you!

As a gift for them or are they helping you plan?

My sister and mom want it to help plan. I was thinking one that includes a calendar, to do list, and other necessary lists that may help.

Generally, I’d think it would be easier if their planners aligned with yours. Daughter shared everything with me in Google docs — calendars, check lists, budget spreadsheets, etc. and it was super helpful & efficient. We could divvy up items on the to do list and keep each other up to date on status of stuff and/or questions to follow up on. From a practical standpoint, it worked really well for us.

I agree with MOB SoCal that it would be easier to have them help you if everything was digital. You don't want to have each person planning a separate event. If you just want to give them physical planners where they can write things down, I like the binders from Russell and Hazel. You can get paper for them with calendars, checklists, or pretty much whatever you want. This link is for a mini one, which you could definitely fill for around $25, but if you want space for a full calendar AND other stuff, you might want to get the larger one which is a little bit more expensive.

What specifically are they planning? I guess I’m not sure why they would need anything. Seems like the result would be multiple ideas going in different directions, which isn’t actually helpful at all.

Yes, she just created various documents as we needed them. Most started as Word or Excel docs, then she added them to our Google docs Wedding Folder. It was super easy and we could both work on things like the guest list & addresses, seating arrangements, track the budget & payment deadlines (FOB & I paid for 80% of the wedding, so I needed to be able to track when payments were due, etc.). We had a master to-do list that got super detailed for the final 6 weeks, etc. She could assign things she needed me to do & the deadlines. We could make notes & highlight items on the docs, so it was easy to see when we needed to talk or follow up on something. We were both working full time and lived about an hour apart, so it was an easy & convenient way to coordinate. It worked well for us.
