I wouldn’t do this unless you’re having an extremely casual wedding like in a rec center or park and people are wearing jeans. It’s hard to keep delivery pizza fresh and warm. Can you look into a wood fired pizza restaurant or food truck to cater?

I agree with this. I like pizza but it gets cold very fast so you need a food truck or someplace that can serve fresh, hot pizza.

I had a friend do jimmy johns

it was incredibly informal wedding that was put together on a 600 budget in a couple months and they loved it

i would think that it’s not appropriate to require people dress in tuxes for pizza

I've never heard of anyone doing this or been to a wedding were Pizza Hut or Domino's was served. I have been to a friend's wedding in a park that was extremely casual and they served chips, dip, sandwiches, and dishes a few family members had brought. The food was somewhat cold by the time we got to eat it. Pizza Hut and Dominos are good and I like them both however I wouldn't recommend serving them at a wedding. Pizza gets cold really fast so there needs to be a way to keep it warm or serve it immediately. I think Jimmy Johns which is a sandwich restaurant and some pizza places offer catering. Do you have a Pie Five in your area? Pie Five has amazing pizza and they offer catering. I highly recommend them as the pizza is delicious and in terms of price very reasonable and it taste gourmet. I would check around to see if any pizza restaurants offer catering in your area that way the pizza stays hot and you get more for your money. As some others have mentioned check into food trucks as they usually are willing to cater to weddings and a lot of times the pizza is really good. Also check into Italian restaurants that cater as many will cater pizza and you could perhaps do pizza, breadsticks or cheesesticks with marinara, and salad for a reasonable price within budget. Also Olive Garden has catering and their food is amazing.

I think Olive Garden or chipotle catering might be easier to keep warm and be kind of close in budget. Usually when pizza gets delivered in big quantities it gets cold pretty easily which is fine for a casual group lunch but probably not what you’d want to serve guests.

Honestly, this sounds great. It sounds like you and your fiance know who you are and what you like. I agree that you should come up with a game plan of keeping it warm - maybe store it in the ovens if your venue has them on sight. But I say if you want it then go for it! Your wedding is about you and your future spouse

We're seriously considering it depending on the venue we end up going with. I think so long as you expect less than 50 people (and order more than enough of each variety for all of them) it's a super neat way to do a casual wedding! But I do agree, a more local pizza place may be a better option, both for quality and level of service.

I remember watching a Four Weddings episode where this did not go well. But I think it comes down to how casual your wedding is. Who doesn't love pizza!?

I assume this would only be okay with the MOST casual of weddings. Unless people ate right when it got delivered, it would get cold very quickly.

I think the pizza food truck suggestion is great. My BIL and SIL did this at their wedding and it was a big hit!
