Pizza For Wedding Reception

We are thinking of having Pizza Ranch at our reception. We will be having around 300-350 people. Has anyone had pizza at their wedding? Did it work well?

In my opinion it sounds cool but for me it is very tacky. Let me say this if your doing a formal wedding then no if not go for it. But 350 wow...good luck

Im doing pizza! I have, at most, a smidgin less than half your guests. Finding someone to cater pizza is such a headache! A lot of people are trying to charge 3500 for it, but we dont trust that number at all bc Ive done this for a living and know theyre upcharging bc we said the word "wedding" (the words "low key" "informal" and "non traditional" mean NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING)

We had the idea of hiring local college kids to put frozen pizzas in our venue's oven. FFIL and his wife (FH's stepmom) did something similar for their wedding and it worked great. If we cant work that out, Pizza Hut is definitely on our radar. Fully prepared to break out the soothing "its gonna be okay, this is what prep time is for, and we got this" speech Ive used on past managers, fellow servers, and catering crews. And likely gonna tell them within six months advance.

I hope it works out for you!! We're doing a tasting with a pizza place that does catering. My fiancé is on the fence if pizza is acceptable wedding dinner but this place has great food so I think he'll be convinced. We're having a small outdoor ceremony and reception.. about 75 people. The place brings a wood fire oven on site and cooks and restocks the pizzas as needed. We'd also have a meat and cheese board, salad, a seasonal side, garlic knots, wood fired wings or meatballs and mini cannolis.

We thought about pizza, but decided to do mini calzones because my mom said it was fancier. We're doing pepperoni, veggie, and Hawaiian (mine and FH favorite)

    Hello!

I am actually going through the same thing right now. How did the pizza go, and do you have any tips?

We have a catering staff, and pizza will be delivered, but wondering how you kept it warm, and if it went smoothly.

    Let me know!
