I've read in some places you should have 2 cookies per guest, some places (typically bakeries) up to 4 cookies per guest on a cookie table. At our engagement party, we a large cake and had 2.5 cookies per person (100 for a party of 40 people) and ended up with half the cake and 30 cookies left over. For our wedding, we're having one small cake mostly just for cutting and decoration, 15 10" pies and a cookie table. I think for a wedding of about 140 people, a cookie table with 280-300 cookies would be sufficient- is that enough? I asked our baker and she told me to go higher, but part of me suspects that just because she'd make more money, especially since we're not doing a big traditional wedding cake.
