Pipe and Drape

Soon2BeMrsLevy, on May 18, 2014 at 3:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

I'm trying to decide if we are going to do the pipe and drape for decor....I think it's beautiful! I heard its expensive which is very discouraging...Also I heard you could DIY....anyone know the costs of professional pipe and drape? Anyone attempted the DIY for pipe and drape

We did pipe and drape for my old job. Think I heard it cost around $400.

Draping when done correctly is stunning especially with LED Lighting...check this out. Draping by Swag Decor and lighting by Soundwave, djsoundwave.net.

Hiring a vendor, costs 2,500. Depends how big the room is.

Another factor to consider is it would take time to set this up. Maybe 1-2 hours depending on how difficult it is. I am renting my venue for a specific number of hours and I didn't want decoration time to cut in on the partying time or pay the ridiculous additional per hour cost.

There is a wall in our venue that has shutters an fake windows. I looked into professional back drops, but it was too expensive. We went to the fabric store and bought ends of bolts and cut them into panels. All told, it will be about $40 since the venue has curtain rods and hooks we can use.

We are able to get in the day before to put up too. Someone will just need to take down that night.

I am doing pipe and drape but only on a wrought iron gate so you cant see cars so about 25 ft and it is roughly $50 dollars so not too bad. I would image for a ballroom it can get very expensive

That is a good price @Kaesey F I'm not sure of the square feet of my reception venue...I do know that the room can fit 500 people for a seated dinner

It's included in the cost of our venue, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. It is beautiful but pricey!
