Piercings? Yay or Nay?

TheeOne2Love, on April 25, 2017 at 9:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 18

To my brides with noticeable facial piercings... Will you be wearing it on the big day or taking it out? I am trying to decide what to do with my Labret ( bottom lip) piercing. While I love it now and have for the last 10 years IDK if I will love seeing that 25 years from now looking back on my wedding Pics. What did you decide? FH loves mine and is ok either way.

I haven't decided. I have a septum piercing. I will probably tuck it in during the ceremony and take it out for some pictures. Gonna get FH opinion on it first tho.

I've got my nose pierced, I've had it since I turned 18 and be wearing my usual stud. Honestly most people don't even notice it.

I have a nose piercing and I'm probably going to wear to a small diamond stud. Though now I'm wondering if I should leave it out.

I'm not a bride, so I dunno if my opinion is what you're looking for, but I'm leaving all of my piercings in: my septum, my stretched lobes, my snakebites, and my tongue ring. I want to get married looking like the best version of myself, authentically me, ya know? Not like the best version of a cleaner, tidier, what-might-have-been version of the self I would have been if I were less... me.

I have my nose pierced (just my right nostril.) I plan on wearing my usual small stud.

@SuperHusband I was thinking that too. Everyone is so used to me with it might be more noticeable that its NOT in. Decisions, decisions. I've been in a few weddings as a bridesmaid and I have taken them out for that.

I have a nose piercing and 10 ear piercings - I plan on wearing them all. I've had almost all of them since i was 16/18 years old. I feel like they're a part of who I am and while it may change down the line, it is pretty authentic to who I am through this period of my life.

Although, if I were to consider a new piercing that would be visible, I would be more tentative to get it before the wedding, because I have had some piercings I didn't like after a few months and got removed.

@SuperHusband - if you don't mind my asking, what is a snakebite? I'm familiar with all the others, but not that one. And if you do mind my asking, no worries! :-)

@OP - how easy is it to remove or add your piercing on the fly? If you're really not sure if you'll want it in all your wedding photos, maybe leave it out for the ceremony and majority of the pictures, then slip it on for a few others and the reception? I have my belly button pierced, so this wasn't an issue for me, but I know mine is fairly easy to put in or take out.

@ Zaz Snakebites are lower lip piercings, one on each side.

That sounds like a good idea. @Zaz I can take it out until the reception portion so at least most of the pics will have it out but I will still have some in as well. With the hustle and bustle of the day I am not sure I will remember to put it back in lol

I have tons of ear piercing, my nose, and double lip piercings on one side. I think I'll wear everything, but still undecided if I want to put tiny diamond studs in my lip or take them out entirely. I wear them occasionally but not all the time so I can go either way I think. I say keep them in if you wear them daily!

Ha! Thanks, all - that's what I thought after the caffeine kicked in! :-)

@OP - keep your piercing and an alcohol swab in your emergency kit in the bridal suite. When you go back there before entering the reception, just swab, place, and go! :-) I followed that route with my glasses in case I need to pop out my contacts at any point. While I didn't, I knew I was covered in case.

I have my nose pierced and plan to wear a tiny diamond. My daughter has the piercing you have. She plans to wear a small stud on her wedding day. My piercing is over 20 years old so it is a part of me and I think it would be weird to see myself without it.

I accidently ripped out my nose ring. But I would have kept it.

Considering getting my septum pierced and I would keep it in too.

I’m a guest at a wedding in two months and I have noticeable facial piercings (bridge, both nostrils, septum) and a few ear piercings, and I don’t know if it would be appropriate to wear them to the celebration. I’m not sure wether to take them out or just change the jewellery?
