Picture/Video Montage

Rachael, on March 2, 2017 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hi beautiful people !! Is everyone doing a traditional picture/video montage? I always thought I would want one but it seems like it will waste time at our wedding. With social media we can always post pictures for people to see. Any ideas of something fun to do instead? I feel like people just sit there and talk and drink while we show them pictures they don't really care about unless they find the one picture they are in lol. Any ideas?

Hi Rachael! When were you thinking of doing a picture or video montage?

I've only seen these twice at weddings. At one they had a looped slideshow playing in a side room throughout the reception so that people could come and go as they pleased, and at another wedding the photographer did same-day pictures and had a looped slideshow (again in a side room) of that day's wedding pictures playing.

I think either doing something off to the side, or posting wedding pictures and videos to social media after the wedding are the best options!

Hi! At almost all the weddings I have been to, they pause the whole reception to have 5 minutes of old/new pictures playing with some slow corny music in the background... starting with baby pictures of each of the couple and then them getting older and then together and also with some special people. I think I would rather take that time to eat and dance actually!

They will be having two screens with photos that are being taken at the wedding playing in the reception area the whole night.

We had a photo montage playing on two screens during our cocktail hour. I'm not sure anyone noticed or cared b/c we didn't join cocktail hour, but DH wanted to do it. Our DJ threw it in for no charge.

My DJ will be throwing it in also...I think that is a good idea to have it playing during cocktail hour and not make everyone stop and be quiet and look! hmm.. don't know if I even want to find the right pictures, what if I leave someone out or someone doesn't like their pic. OVERTHINKING NOW. lol

    Thanks!

Frame a couple of your e-pics and display them in the card/gift table. Don't spend hours putting together a slide show no one will actually look at. "Work smarter, not harder"

Pass for me! Hate anything that stops the reception . 99% of the room doesn't care or want to see pics in my opinion

Guests don't typically like these, it's pretty old fashioned at this point.

I think that's a thing of the past. We'll have a few framed photos of our engagement photos at the guest book table but that's all.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking that it was so boring and old fashioned, now it is confirmed and I don't have to waste my time with that! =)
