Pictures 📸

We didn't give a list of the common photos, we just assumed that our photographer knew we wanted pictures with our bridal party, pictures with our parents, etc. We were more specific about the family photos because we both have blended families and wanted to make sure we got photos with each relative that we wanted. When making the list, we started with the biggest group and narrowed it down, that way people could get to cocktail hour. For example, we started with my parents, siblings, nieces, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Took out cousins, then took out aunts and uncles, then took out grandparents, blah blah blah.

We also found it super helpful to look up our venue location on Instagram and look at the photos other couples posted there. We found tons of poses and backdrops that we wouldn't have otherwise thought of.

I didn’t have much of one. The photographer might be able to also have a ton of pose suggestions for you

Your photographer probably has a list, suggestions or even samples. Otherwise Google is always wonderful!

I have a section on my pinterest board for photos I like.

We've had photos taken by a couple different photographers and none of them have ever asked us for a list. There were a few photos I saw online that I loved and asked if we could try the pose and they all said yes. For the most part, the photographers have poses and know what to do to make your photos look beautiful!

I would definitely check Pinterest they have printable poses and shots you want your photographer to capture

I only gave my photographer groupings for family photos. I assumed she would get a variety of poses for couples photos, individual portraits and would get all the key moments.

Aside from all of the usual pictures, I asked a lot of my friends and coworkers what pictures they were glad they got/regretted not getting on their wedding day! It helped get some unique responses.
One friend told me they were happy they got group photos with the guests at each table and another mentioned siblings only photos that I wouldn't have thought of. I also looked on pinterest to see if there were any lists of things I wouldn't think of otherwise. I'm still working on compiling a list of pictures we want for our October 2020 wedding.
