Pictures during cocktail hour?

Hi all!

I’m looking for options. Me and my FH are NOT doing a first look. But we also don’t want to miss our cocktail hour (we are having a live Latin band). How can we get the pictures taken with our family without spending too much time? I want to mingle with my guests and watch the band during cocktail hour!

is taking 15 minutes during cocktail hour for pictures the only option at this point?

You can take as many pictures as possible before the ceremony with your respective parties and families to get them out of the way.
ETA: you are going to have to take some after the ceremony. You will need portraits with FH and since you are not doing a first look, there is no other time to do them besides the cocktail hour. But if you get most of the others done before the ceremony, you should have time to pop in and enjoy your cocktail hour when you're done. Make sure to tell your photographer you'd like to spend some time at your cocktail hour so they know how to arrange the day.

Get all the pics with bridal party and everything our of the way before hand! Also I have heard of People doing a slightly extended cocktail hour of about an hour 15 minutes if that is an option.

Id have the band play during reception instead. That way you can take your time with family pictures AND enjoy every second of the band.

We absolutely did not want a first look until we realized that we would miss so much precious time with out guests...we ended up doing a first look and honestly it was my favorite part of the whole day 😍

We're having an 1.5hr cocktail 'hour' and taking our pictures with our respective wedding party before the ceremony. After the ceremony we're taking quick pictures with our families in the church and then sending everyone to our reception venue (have buses for everyone to/from). We'll take our pictures together and once we get to reception venue, grab the wedding party for a few pics all together, then enjoy the rest of the night!
