Pictures Beforehand - Timeline?

on July 25, 2019 at 9:14 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hey! So we’re planning on do a first look and all pictures before the ceremony (we want to be able to enjoy a little bit of cocktail hour too!). Because of this, we’re going to be on a bit of a time crunch. For those of you who did pics before, how did your timeline look? Our ceremony starts at 4:30pm. We’re totally open to doing half pics before and finishing them up after! Just trying to figure out the best way to do this lol. Thanks!!!

Our ceremony is starting at 4:30 as well. Your hair and makeup timeline may be different, but here is a rough draft of ours. If you don't need as much time to get ready, you could do your first look earlier and allow for couple or family photos before the ceremony.

7:30 am- hair and makeup arrive and setup

8 am- bridal party arrives, hair and makeup begins

12 pm- photographer and videographer arrive, getting ready and detail shots

    1:30 pm- everyone gets dressed

2 pm- bride gets into dress, bridal photos

    2:30 pm- first look

3 pm- bridal party photos, maybe some family photos???

4 pm- end photos, hair and makeup touchups

4:20 pm- begin lining up for processional

    4:30 pm- ceremony begins

5 pm- cocktail hour, family photos begin

5:20 pm- family joins cocktail hour, couple photos alone, sign marriage license (you could make the couples photos timeframe shorter)

    6 pm- enter into reception

It depends - do you have to set up your ceremony yourself? I had to for mine. So my photos were starting at 1:30-2p and would be done by 3p so we could get to the venue at 330p for set up for a 5p ceremony

My ceremony was at 5 PM

Photo TimelinePHOTOGRAPHER 2-8:30HMU 12 to 22pm groom w/tie & jacket (wait to put on for photos)
2:30pm Bride getting ready (dressed mom/Julie); dressed by this time (leave off jewelry)
2:50pm Lisa pin boutonnière on Steve
    3pm first look, portrairs
    3:45pm Bridal party
    4pm family photos
    4:30pm done

In the cocktail hour we did maybe 15 minutes of extended family photos. Just my husbands side and my dad's side.

Our timeline is looking almost identical, except everything from pictures/first look on is delayed by half an hour because our ceremony starts at 5:30. Glad to see that someone else's is so similar!

We're not having a cocktail hour at my wedding so we are all just going straight across the venue from ceremony to reception. Are your venues near each other? We're doing all posed photos about an hour and a half before the wedding to cut down on the cost of photography.

9 people for hair, 5 for makeup. Two of the people getting hair done are our mothers, so the plan is for them to go last while we’re doing bridal party photos.

So I am having the same issue with timeline. My wedding is at 5:00. I am not using a limo since ceremony and reception in same venue. So I was planning on getting dressed into my dress at the venue. Arriving at 2:30/3:00? How long do photos take!? And also for the first look... did anyone see you in your dress besides the wedding party, a lot of my FH family will be at the venue because his brother and brother in law are in the wedding party so my FSILs will both be there i would imagine? I just want to try and sneak around without anyone seeing me lol! And especially FH
