Picture frame for guests to sign

Jennifer, on October 2, 2010 at 9:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

For those of you that have or plan to go with the matted pic frame for guest to sign, how did you do it? Just put the matte itself out on the table and let everyone sign it? We bought our matte separately at a party supply store and then got the frame for it last night (which also already has a matte in it).

I was thinking of displaying a pic of us from our actually engagement in the mountains using the matte that came with the frame on the table beside our guest sign in matte and then switching it out later with our signed matte and our wedding pic of choice.

My sister did this and put it on it's own little table for us to sign. she didn't have a photo in it yet. i explained to guest where it was and all that good stuff. now she has her fav. wedding photo in it framed and hanging on the wall.

I gone one of these for my sister for her wedding. I bought a signature frame that was already made and came with a pen. All of the guests signed it and my sister has it hanging up in her living room now.

You don't have to put a photo in there at all. People will understand that you're going to put the photo in there later and will sign it with all their best wedding wishes.

Cool, was just thinking of doing the photo in the actual frame with the matte that came with it during our reception because I haven't done my bridal portraits yet, going to do those at the site before the wedding. That way, guests can still sign our guest matte for the frame but we will have a pic on display too! I have seen others who have done this and I think its a great way to have it on display after the wedding than in a guest book that will just be put up somewhere and forgotten.

Someone gave me one of those plates and all of our guests signed it. It is adorable and I have it sitting out on display. I bought a stand for it so you can see it when you walk in my door.

I got one for a ridiculous price at Michael's. Marked down to 7.50 from 20.00. I'm going to put an engagement pic in and have it in the frame so guest doen't sign off the matt. (if that makes sense)

In addition to the regular matted frames, this is something else to think about...

I found a frame that instead of having paper matting, it has a mat made from this special metal that once your guests sign it with this special pen, their words are actually engraved on the frame...kind of like that plate mentioned above...the engraveable frame is pretty expensive, but I'm excited about it, especially since i don't really want a guest book.

Ya, I saw that one and thought it was pretty neat too but I couldn't bring myself to spend what they wanted for it..it is nice though.

My idea didnt work that great anyway since I printed out the pic without even realizing the frame doesn't have a leg on the back to stand on so it is a hang on the wall type only anyway. Will work for our wedding pic and the matte sign in when done, but I am going to use a smaller 5X7 frame that actually coordinates with our wedding colors and I can put one of our engagement day pics in it so that works for the reception table.
