kerri, on April 14, 2010 at 7:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hi everyone,

I think I want to have a pinic type, small(about 50 guests), and informal wedding OUTSIDE. Does anyone know of any places in or around Philadelphia or New Jersey that can accomidate this type of wedding? and that isnt super expensive. My budget is 10K for everything total.

*shakes head* (not at you Kerri)

    Check this out: www.cycop.com

I'm not sure what their pricing is like though. I've only been there for sailing related activities! Smiley smile

Have you checked out Fairmount Park? http://fairmountpark.org/PlanAnEvent.asp

They might be able to do something that suits your taste and budget.

Neshaminy State Park, if you're familar with Bucks County, there are a lot of parks where you can have your wedding, Tyler State Park is one of them. If you're only going to have 50 people and your budget is 10k, you may even be able to get a reception venue on the Delaware.

Good Morning. My name is Julie and I am an associate planner for Moment to Moment Event Planning. Check out our website www.mtmevents.com. When I came across your forum post, I was excited. I am based out of South Jersey and I know of several locations where you could have your wedding. I would love to work with you and make your wedding day the happiest day of your life. I have taken your budget into account and I can certainly work within your budget. As a planner, I get vendor discounts that I pass onto my budgets. Hiring a planner SAVES you money. Please email me at *******@*********.***. Congrats on your engagement as well and I look forward to hearing from you.

Try Mercer County Park. They have an nice Gazebo and Pavilion right on the lake. They also have catering at the boathouse for smaller weddings. I looked into having it there but my guest list is too big.

This area is soooo tough. VERY PRICEY everywhere! I hear everyone with thier $7,000 budgets on here and I want to cry. That is like next to impossible in this area! Smiley laugh Best of luck!

I don't know of anything specific since I don't live in the area, but our city parks division has places that they rent out that are nice -- pavillions and such. You could check out your city website to see what they offer. We're having our ceremony at one of the city parks here, Elmwood Grotto. Kerri - Cindy is right about Mercer County Park. It's a really nice park. If it's near you, I would recommend checking it out. I don't know anything about their wedding arrangements, but it would be a nice location.

There are too many places in the city of philadelphia to name just one. But if you check out the website for the fairmount park commission they have a lot of choices on their site. the problem is the best places book up quick. Yo can also do a check on historic houses/mansions throughout the city of philadelphia most of them have huge areas for the reception with huge backyards/ grounds where you can really have some fun though most have a stipulation that no red wine is allowed to be served on the premises for obvious reason of them not wanting to damage the antique furniture or rugs. But because most are city owned they are quite economical the only issues are the rules. But Fairmount park is the cheapest with the least rules and they have very lax rules about the catering

    (any one can do it).
