picnic tables

Megan, on June 29, 2012 at 2:23 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 11

So as some of you know I am having my ceremony and reception at a park underneath a large pavilion. We are using the picnic table that are already provided but will like to cover them somehow. I would like to only spend MAX $10/per table but I don't want them to look tacky either since that is where we are having the ceremony too and they will be in the professional pictures. My colors are light blue and orange and having a picnic type theme.

You can go to a fabric store like joanne and buy fabric by the bolt and make runners. What kind of condition are the tables in? A fine sand paper can spruce up them up pretty easily if needed.

Another option might be burlap which I see online a lot, but I don't know how comfortable it is. It could be soft, it could be scratchy.

    Or burlap and a runner

I am interested in this thread.... I just don't think it will work for us, the pavillion has way too many and they take up the whole area, so no place for dance floor. Are the benches attached???

We are having our reception in a friend's barn...they have provided picnic tables as well. I has a lady on etsy make our runners. They ended up being about $13 each(not bad since she lined them for us too). I think its the perfect way to classy it up some!! They look great.

    Good Luck

Look at local rental places as some of them offer colored table runners or cloths that are the same price as if you get white.

I got mine from etsy.com her shop name is straightstitch

Mine were patterned, lined, and have ruffles at the end. For $13 each. Super fast turnaround time. I ordered them on a Monday and she was done and ready to ship by Thursday.

I'm sure if you dont want them lined or have ruffles they'd be quite a bit cheaper. I just had a very light fabric so lining was a must

    Good Luck

I couldn't believe it when I found this site! Cheaper than renting and they are restaurant quality table clothes. I went with plain white, but colors are the same price. The 60x102 should fit a picknick table fine, only $7.65 each, free shipping, and they have sales all the time. They also have runners for $2.

    LOVE linentablecloth.com!

Hey Megan, I would suggest you to have a look on spandex table covers. These are awesome in look and very cost effective too. We did the linens from sculptwareonline and were pretty satisfied with the material quality and after sales support.

This thread is really old, but for anyone reading these for ideas, like me, smartyhadaparty.com has tablecloths for $5.99 and table runners for .89 each. That's a great deal and where I'll be ordering my tablecloths. I want the whole picnic tables covered. I'm even going to order extra, and cut strips for the bench seat parts so people don't worry about sitting on picnic tables that might be dirty. Of course I'll be wiping them down first.
