I can understand this 100%! I lost my my mom earlier this year to lung cancer. It is very bittersweet because she was so excited and proud. I am only child and my dad has absent since the day I was born so not having my mom their leaves a very big hole in my heart.

You look beautiful! Yes, some understand what that's like, especially this year. My dad passed 11 years ago and I felt like getting married would be pointless without him there. You just have to remember how much you love your fiance and your dad would be so proud of you.


I found something on Pinterest that we'll probably have at our wedding. You can have an empty chair with a "sign" of some sort on it that says "we know you would here today if Heaven wasn't so far away". If you're able to honor your dad in some way I think it would help with all the feelings he you'll have that day.

Your dress is absolutely stunning on you! My mom passed in 2018 (on my birthday) & I’d like to say it gets easier but it doesn’t. You just learn to live with it. The 1st year is definitely the hardest & sometimes it hurt so bad that I’d escape to the restroom to cry. Now I can think of my mom & not cry (at least most times).
