Pick a date?!? Where's my Farmer's Almanac?

Private User, on December 5, 2012 at 7:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

My future MOH mentioned using a Farmer's Almance in order to have a theory on how the weather would be for the month of October and November. Has anyone ever used an Almanac when picking your "I Do" date? Did it work for anyone or just something fun to do and hope for the best?

    I picked my date around the venue but I'm getting married in Monroe Michigan in June which is thunderstorms and tornado time for us... So I have checked the online farmers almanacs and the last four years so no rain that day lol... So fingers crossed (I'm getting married outside, a tornado or thunderstorm would be uninvited wedding crashes for sure lol but that's the risk of a June wedding...

    * fingers crossed Smiley smile

    DH consults the Farmer's Almanac religiously for things like "best times" to get a hair cut (to promote growth), plant vegetables, mow the grass (to prevent growth), etc.

    There is no "best time" to get married.

    That being said, I checked our date (Dec 152, 2012), it is the best time to castrate animals. My DH didn't appreciate that information.

    Haha! I don't blame you! I'm trying to see where to find it on the website. We're looking at the weekend of Oct. 26 or Nov. 2. Beautiful fall weather for Tulsa but I want to make sure a blizzard doesn't show up out of no where lol

    I'm hoping for a cold front in Texas for next weekend. We are still having high temps in the mid 80's. Definitely needs to cool down for the holidays (and my wedding!)

    I use to live in Texas. Cold fronts didn't normally hit till late Dec. to Jan. I do remember it snowed once in April lol
