Photography & videography

Shanique, on March 2, 2020 at 5:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 17
I came across a photographer that has a pretty good package. I want a videographer at the wedding but not for 4 hours (I’m kind of indecisive to be honest) the photographer will also be there for 4 hours but I feel like that’s enough time. Below is a screenshot of the package details. What is a reasonable price for everything that is listed below? It’s $2,800 but I feel like that’s too much. Or is it reasonably priced based on everything you will be getting.

It’s $2800 for BOTH the video and photo? That’s pretty good to me or standard to me, at least if it’s for both.

The picture is very blurry. I’m laying 5k for two videographers a photographer for 10 hours. I’m getting a 5-10 min trailer. A 45-60 min highlight and a full length feature film. These will all be uploaded online so all my guests and family members can download whatever pictures and videos they would like.

I think 4 hours is kind of short. But for the price of photography and videography, I think that's a good deal. Normally photography alone is around that price for 8 hours so I guess it makes sense

I was thinking the same as far as it being a short period of time but given everything that’s included it seems like a decent price.

That's amazing pricing if that is for both!

Our Videographer by itself was $2100 and then our photographer was $2800.

My total cost for videography (engagement video and 8 hours of wedding day coverage) was $3200. Photography was about the same for engagement shoot, boudoir and 2 shooters for 10 hours on the wedding day. So yeah, I think that’s an awesome deal.

$2800 for both photography AND videography?? Plus, it looks like there is a Photo Booth included as well?! I would say you were getting a great deal! My photography and videography will be almost $4000, and no photo booth

Ok, I was just thinking that the 4 hour time frame is too short.

For my area, those prices are a STEAL. You have to check what’s normal in your area.

4 hours is enough - depends on what you want included. Do you want getting ready and detail footage? Do you want the first dance and toasts included? Do you want your guests dancing and partying included? As for photos, do you want portraits of just you and FS after the ceremony? Professional shot photos with you and guests after ceremony or reception or receiving like? Details of getting ready and the decor? If you want all those things, 4 hours isn’t enough. If you only want coverage for specific time period of the day’s schedule, sure. Also, what about travel time? If your ceremony and reception are at different places, you cannot subtract the travel time between them from coverage. So if it’s 45 min away, you just eat the the time lost. You have to make a timeline in order to decide if 4 hours is enough. The prices are very good. Most photographers and videographers won’t even offer packages for such a short period of time, so you’re lucky they willing to do it. It’s typically not worth it to them to only do a 4 hour event unless it’s Mon-Thurs. Friday - Sunday’s usually have a minimum hours requirement m.

That's a GREAT deal for all 3! I think you can definitely get everything you need in 4 hours, I would just maybe make a mock up of how you expect the day to go as well as a list of what you want pictures of. Definitely factor in travel time from ceremony to reception. And think about specific shots you want, i.e. if you want pictures of getting ready or the dress before you put it on or a first look then you're going to end up with less of the reception.

For reference, our ceremony is a 15 minute drive from our reception and the way that we broke it down with our photographer (we have 2 actually) the first 4 hours will be pictures of my dress, us with our bridesmaids/groomsman (before and after the ceremony), ceremony pictures, family portraits at the chapel, couple portraits at the chapel and then travel to and photographing the entrance and just a little bit at the reception. Now we have 7 hours booked with them so you could probably fit more into that time if that's the time you had. It seems doable but just keep what you want photographed in mind.

See I want getting ready pictures and video. Reception etc. so I know 4 hours isn’t long enough but I’m also looking at everything else the package comes with. I’m so confused sigh
