Photography/ videography timing

Can you move your first dance up in the timeline so your photographer will capture it? I don't think the videographer needs to be there for first look. It is supposed to be an intimate moment so just photographer is fine.

I'm not sure when you're having your first dance, but we're having ours right after our introduction before dinner starts. I agree with PP on the first look, I think I'd rather than be as intimate as possible with just the two of you and your photographer. Does your videographer charge by the hour in real time or in time they actually spend recording?

We had our photographer & videographer both for 8 hours. They both got the first dance. We didn't do a first look.

As a wedding videographer, I absolutely love capturing my couples' first looks. It really adds to the story of their film. But, it depends on which package you purchased. Are you getting a highlight film? Or a documentary film with all the events in full. For a highlight, the first look I think is needed.

As for your first dance, if you would like for it to be photographed, I would maybe think of switching up your timeline. Maybe do that as soon as you're announced.
