I’m 11/24. We’re going to do wedding party photos before 2:00, ceremony at 3, and family and couple photos at 3:30.

We got married in December and our ceremony was at 3. The photographer began taking pictures of us getting ready and detailed shots at 12:30. First look pics were 1-1:30. Wedding party and VIPs were 1:30-2:45. Our ceremony was 3-4. We took some group pics with our guests at the church and then released them to cocktail hour while wedding party and VIPs stayed behind for a few more pics. We were done with all of our formal pics by 4:45 so we could join cocktail hour by 5. It was just starting to get dark as we arrived at the reception venue for cocktail hour. Cocktail hour lasted until 5:45 (90 minutes) then guests were invited inside to find their seats and dinner was served at 6.

Hi Amber! What time is your ceremony? This will greatly dictate how long after the ceremony you have to take photos before it starts to get dark.

Are you planning on doing a first look?
