Did you invest more in photography or videography? What was your favorite?! If you choose to do only one of them, why?

We chose not to do videography, but we are spending more on photography than anything else and we'll have two shooters! I love seeing the videos people get from their wedding videographers, but I just couldn't justify the price. I'm sure we'd watch the video a few times after the wedding, but we'd probably either forget about it or have gotten sick of watching it and rarely watch it again lol. If we had an unlimited budget, I'd definitely hire a videographer! But it wasn't a priority for us Smiley smile

We invested in photographer and skipped a videographer. Most of my friends that got a videographer watch their wedding video once a year at the most. My parents can’t even view theirs because it’s on outdated technology. Pictures are something we can have in frames on our walls and in albums.

I am unsure of a videographer. I want one but depends on FH comfort level with it. I will splurge on photography because I want beautiful pics to look at. I will skimp in other areas but not on photography because you could have issues or bad pics.

My photographer is about 4x more than the videographer. My fiancé didn’t want one but I did so we compromised and got the lowest priced package 😊

If you could only chose one then it should be photography. The photographer captures more that a videographer would. We were fortunate to find a photographer that offered 3 hour photo and 3 hours video package at a very reasonable price. My dad ended up helping us pay for the videographer since we have a lot of out of state family not attending and they can see the wedding. 11 more days and we get to see it all come together!

We had both photography and videography, but we spent more on photos. Videography wasn't a high priority for us and was just something that we decided to add on if we had wiggle room in our budget. Photography was our highest priority.

We got both! We are spending almost 2.5x on the photography than the videography. I will be looking at the photos more than the actual video.

Photography for sure if you have to pick just one. We had a family member film our ceremony, but there was no editing or anything - we watch it about once a year. I enjoy having pictures and the ability to print and display them. I think you'd get more "use" out of paying for good photos vs. paying for both, or paying for just video.

We spent $2000 on photography and $930 on videography. I’m so grateful for both. Can’t imagine not having photos lol. We almost passed on videography but I’m SO glad we didn’t. I was worried it wouldn’t be worth the money, but honestly having that video is priceless. It allows you to relive the day in a way that photos just can’t. I think it’ll be really special to have to show our children/grandchildren someday and they can really experience the day... you can’t do that as much with photos.

We didn’t get a videographer but set up a camera on a tripod and got the ceremony and special dances.

Video! I felt like it really helped me relive the day but I do feel like it def isn't a necessity if you have photographer

We went with both. We initially found a guy with a combo deal that was great (2 videographers, 2 photographers with 8 or 10hrs. of coverage for $5,000) but the quality wasn't the greatest and we didn't connect with him. So we figured if we were going to spend that much initially we would just split it down the middle and we did. We felt we needed and wanted both. Photos to capture the sweetest moments and then video for action packed fun!

We're doing a photo/video package for less than $2k. Photo for 6 hours and video for 8 hours and we get a free 16x20 canvas.
