Photography for Planetarium Ceremony

Jennifer, on April 5, 2016 at 1:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

I'm having my wedding ceremony inside a planetarium (in Connecticut). I know the lighting will be tricky for photography. Any advice on how to choose a photographer who will be able to handle this location?

Ask your venue for a list of recommended photographers.

Start e-mailing photography companies/calling and asking if they have anyone VERY experienced with low light. Tell them your wedding is in a planetarium.

I would think any highly experienced photographer would be able to deal with anything they come across. Especially since they usually scout the venue before the wedding.

In any event, I have used Instagram to help me find photographers who have taken pics at my venue. If you're familiar with IG, to go the "tags" feature and search for your venue. You should come across some pics of wedding photographers.

I had similar concerns because of my reception venue. When I expressed this to my photographer options, some were gracious enough to send samples of work they had done in the same space (tablescapes, centerpieces, details, etc, no people) so I could get an idea of photography in darker, low-lit rooms. Might be an option for you.
