Photography Drama...

Hey everyone, so I got married a few months ago and it was a great day! When I received my pictures back I was disappointed to see only a few portrait shots. Then there was hardly any pictures with our family. I didn’t even have one all together with my siblings and parents. I guess that is partly my fault and should’ve given her a list of what I wanted. Anyways we’re past that because I rebooked a session with another photographer who retook our pictures.

Now in our package it includes a flash drive with all our pictures on it. I received a link from her but I didn’t know that it would expire so all the pictures needed to be downloaded 🤦🏽‍♀️ I found this out the other day when I was finally going to print them out. So now I don’t have any wedding pictures. Again my fault.... The thing is I asked her about the flash drive when we received the link she said would it would be a little longer to get that together. About a week ago my mil contacted her to see if she had it ready but she never responded to her. It has been 4 months!!! Have I given her plenty of time? I understand photographers are busy but if you have been paid in full then I at least expect a response or a time frame. I have tried to be understanding but I’m over it. Our package also includes an engagement session and I never received all the pictures to that either only what she posted on her page so we asked that the engagement pictures be put on the flash drive as well. We also asked for a receipt and never received it. She is a great photographer just horrible at communicating.

4 months is an outrageous amount of time to wait for your photos… Yes, photographers are busy, but she could at least respond to one of your many attempts to reach her. I honestly would reach out one last time, and then threaten legal action if there's no response.

That's highly unusual and unprofessional. I'd ask her nicely one more time and then start getting angry.

Did your contract state a delivery time? 4 months isn’t necessarily out of the normal possibility but it’s obviously not ok if she guarantees something like 6 weeks and it’s been 4 months.

Four months is kind of long but I agree with PP to check the contract terms, if any
