Photographer/videographer timeline

Keri, on April 11, 2018 at 7:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
How early are you having your photographer/videographer arrive/how much time are you allotting for "getting ready photos"?

Our ceremony starts at 3pm, and our reception goes until 11:30 pm. The photographer and videographer we love run 9 hour packages. I'm worried a half hour won't be nearly enough, so we extended the photographer by an hour (1:30-11:30pm), but I'm wondering if we have to extend the videographer as well...

My photographer created our timeline. We aren’t doing a grand exit so she won’t be there until the end. My ceremony is at 6:00 she will start with getting ready photos at 3:30.

My photographer set this. She is doing 15 mins of "getting ready" then while I am getting in my dress, etc she is going to do the groomsmen photos. Then, first look. Then group photos, about an hour.. Then, the guys are off to the bar downtown for photos while we do just bridesmaids.

    We have two photographers.

Both our photographer and videographer arrive at 2:00 and we are doing our first look at 3:15 so we have an 1:15 to do getting ready shots, then ceremony starts at 5. My photographer told me it usually takes her about 15 minutes to get everything set up like dress shots and rings shots, changing her lenses out for those close ups and then of course changing back to her other lenses for the actual getting ready. We have both photographer and videographer until 11 when our send off is.

I would ask your photographer for a mock timeline, Mine gave me our timeline and how much time she needs per event within the wedding so thats what FH and I are going by.

    1. Get a timeline from the photographer
    2. They do not need to be there til the end. It’s a lot of wasted hours for “candid” shots.

I just had my final meeting with my photographer last night and she provided the timeline. During this time we discussed what photos were most important to me and she based her timeline off of that. We are also not doing a grand exit, so she'll be leaving at about 9:15 PM and our reception ends at 10:30 PM.

Our photographer and videographer arrived right when our venue opened at 2pm.
