Photographers

So I found a photographer I LOVE! But she is the only one there on the big day. Isn’t it better to have two photographers there or is it okay to just have the one? I will have a videographer but I’ve always imagined having a duo photographers

Everyone has a different opinion on this, but a second shooter was a necessity for us and I'm so glad we had one.

I don't think a second shooter is necessary but they are nice to have just so you can get other photos in different perspectives

It's whatever you're comfortable with. I'm only having 1, but I've heard completely valid reasons for having a 2nd. You can bring this to your current photographer's attention and see of he/she has a person they work with frequently as a partner.

It really depends. As of right now we're only contracted one photographer but I've been thinking about the possibility of having a second one. If it's in your budget go for it! I'm sure you'll get photos you didn't even know you wanted and that's kind of where my mind set is right now. It would probably be about 130 people or so and I'd hate to miss anything. It's not a deal breaker for me but if we can afford it, we'll definitely do it.

Necessary is an overstatement, but it really does help. We're having two. I would ask if they know someone they can bring as a second or if they're comfortable with you paying a second to work alongside them yourself.

Personally, I think a second photographer is a must have. A second photographer able to capture more moments or from different angles than one photographer. Our second photographer took some of my favorite photos. Have you asked if her she has an option for a second photographer? My guess is that you have and as much I would loved my photographer, if it had only been her I wouldn't have booked her.

I wouldn’t say it’s absolutely necessary, but we had 2 shooters and are so glad we did. We decided it was necessary, for us, to ensure we got every shot we wanted. We also had 2 videographers for the same reason.

My sister only had one photographer and has wonderful pictures from her wedding and didn't feel she missed out on anything.

Not a necessity. I only have one photographer and I feel confident she will get all the needed shots

We had two, but we got ready in separate locations, and she came as part of the contract.

That said, it's up to you, where you're getting ready, and what you can afford. But clear that person with your original photographer.

We're having our main photographer, her second shooter and an assistant as well as a videographer. We don't want to miss a single moment Smiley smile

I think one is plenty, but I've been thinking I may get another to capture candid shots through the night.

It really depends on how big your wedding is! If there’s more than 120 people, I’d shoot (no pun intended) for a second. If he/she doesn’t have a partner or recommendation, and you’re looking to save money, look for an up and coming photographer that can “shadow” your main photog, so you have double the pictures, they get experience, and it’s usually super cheap.
