Are photographers in a wedding tipped? We didn’t know if is required for our photographer to give her a tip if she is the owner and no assistant was with her. Her job and attitude was excellent. But still need to know was is the etiquette.

I am likely going to be tipping our photographer. He is also the owner of his business and no assistant. I don't know how much yet though.

Most people say if they're the owners, then you don't need to tip them since they set the prices.
We tipped our vendors regardless of them being the owners because they did an amazing job.

I’ve always heard that owners don’t need to be tipped, but everyone else should be.

It's really up to you. We thought our photographer did a great job during the wedding day, so we tipped him and his assistant even though he is the owner of the business (it's not like a huge company though. It's just him and the assistant). He was also super generous with giving us a price break because we couldn't afford his normal rate.

Daughter & SIL absolutely LOVED their photographer. He'd shot another wedding daughter was a BM in, and he'd done a 6-hr engagement shoot with them (resulting in 250+ gorgeous photos), so they were extremely confident that his and his second shooters work at the wedding was going to be perfect, and fun/comfortable for them. When he arrived at the beginning of what was going to be a 12-hour wedding day, we gave him an envelope containing $200. He didn't open it in our presence, but he was very appreciative. We left it up to him to share with his second shooter. As expected, they did an amazing job and B&G ended up with almost 1200 full-edited gorgeous photos -- ahead of the contracted delivery date. We felt he was extremely deserving and we wanted him to know how much we appreciated his major role in the wedding.
