Ladies, have you ever heard of a photographer not ask for a deposit and just say pay at the wedding day of the wedding?

    I have not heard of that. Does this photographer have you sign a contract ahead of time? I'd be cautious of a photographer who doesn't have a contract.

    My “save the date” Photographer didn’t. I paid her at that day, and paid her tip after I got the files.

    Nope. Our photographer had a contract we signed and then we paid him a deposit. The most unconventional thing was that he preferred Venmo because then there is an electronic receipt and it's easy and free.

    It just makes me a little bit nervous since nothing is written up or deposit. He just said a verbal agreement. God forbid he backs out,but then again if you do have someone with an agreement, they can back out to so I guess it really doesn't matter lol. Fingers crossed!!!

    I personally would find another photographer. Without a contract, I would be nervous that they wouldn't show up. Pictures are super important to me, so I wouldn't be willing to risk it. If you trust him, and he has great reviews, by all means go for it! Otherwise, I'd look for someone else.

    I would definitely look for another photographer if there’s no contract- there’s nothing in writing holding him accountable to show up.

    Yes. I was nervous as well, but she ended up showing up even 30 minutes early. Just keep in contact with him/her. Discuss about details now and then.

    No reputable wedding photographer would allow someone to book their services without a written contract and some kind of deposit. I'd definitely run and find a new photographer!
