Photographer vs. Videographer

Nikki, on October 16, 2017 at 7:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Do you need both? Is it possible to find a package that includes both? We're under a pretty strict budget but I really would love a wedding video. Also can you just tell me your experiences if you did have both?

You can definitely find a package with both. We found it cheaper to use separate people

I rarely refer companies that sell bundling. One service is almost always going to be less adept that the other.

No, you don't. They aren't the same thing. If your budget is tight, put it towards a better photographer rather than mediocre of both.

We splurged $$$$ on our photo/videographers.

It's all you have when the day is done!

I think you will regret not having a videographer. My sister got a great package for everything: engagement shoot, videography and photography for wedding. The stuff is just gorgeous and we get teary every time we see it. You will remember your day forever, so I think this $ worth spending. Cut down on other stuff like flowers, cake and expensive invites.

I referred our videographer over our photographer. Our photographer missed several shots (ie. our rings, me getting my hair and makeup done, etc.) which our videographer was able to catch. Watching our wedding video is 10x better than looking at our still photos from our wedding day. The feeling of watching everyone's actions, dancing, having fun is just so much better than clicking through numerous photos. I paid more for my photographer than my videographer, but definitely feel that our videographer deserved more! The videographer was our best investment and favorite vendor for our wedding day, you won't regret booking one! If it is a budget issue, try cutting your budget from other areas (ie. flowers, stationary, cake, etc) Those don't last a day after your wedding, but the video will!

We are having both but they are 2 separate vendors. I know some vendors will offer both services as a package but it usually doesn't come with a cheap price tag. We wanted to make sure we got the style of Photography and videography we wanted.

We're going to have both. Each location we've looked at has had samples of people's wedding albums and videos and honestly watching the videos was amazing! We have decided to cut out some of the smaller stuff and spend less on decor to be able to have a videographer there to capture the day. If budget is an issue you can always have friends who take Videos during the day send all of them to you and piece them together yourselves.

I hired two separate vendors. Videographers are pricy but it's something I really wanted.

We could only afford one so I went towards a beautiful photographer instead of 2 amateurs for photo and video.... we just did our engagement photos with her and I'm so happy, there was one part where I burst out laughing and she got a picture of it and it captured the moment so beautifully, I feel like a video might have actually taken away from the moment (although it was engagement photos not my wedding)... find your photographer first and then see whats left in the budget and do video too if there is anything left.

There are alot of places that do both, but you don't have to do a package deal you could use 2 separate companies. We only had photographers, no videographer and I regret it, I would say if you can afford it do both
