Photographer & Videographer

smithwedding, on October 8, 2020 at 5:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 12
Soooo... I know I started a discussion of how to choose a wedding photographer & videographer but now our question is this. 😅

How long did y’all book?! & did you feel it was enough time?
Here is what we want (so far), subject to change. lol!
Photos: first look, ceremony & part of the reception.
Video: footage of us doing our finishing touches of getting ready, ceremony & snippets of the reception (entrance with our bridal party, first dance)

I booked my photographer for 6 hours. She’ll get attire details, final getting ready touches, ceremony details, the ceremony, family, party, and couple portraits, reception decor details, and reception highlights.

I did not look long. I looked at different photographers and one I was going to hire ended ghosting me so I decided to look at photographers my friends used as well as their recommendations because my girls will tell me yay or nay lol. I looked around and I decided to get in touch with the photographers I saw at an expo and always wanted and luckily they did elopement pricing which was cheaper. I interviewed them and another lady as the prices were similar and I asked a couple of friends to check their pages to see which style they liked best and I ended up going with the amazing photographers I have today. I would check your friends wedding pics you liked and then set up an in person or phone interview.

Our photographer is booked for 10 hours. Her and a second shooter will be there from noon (when we have access to the venue) until 10 pm. Since our wedding will be on a Sunday we figure the reception will end at 10:30, so there should only be 30 minutes of the day not captured.

Our photographer is booked for 6 hours but we will most likely extend it to 8 to get the pre wedding photos as well

Talk to the photographer/videographer about what they think they’ll need to capture all those moments. When we talked to ours they recommended six hours so that’s what we went with!

I booked both our photographer and videographer for 6 hours and it was plenty of time.

Oh wow, that’s great! My fiancé & I were thinking 6 hours will suffice for what we want captured. & it seems like a lot of brides average between 6-8 hrs. Thank you all!
