Photographer, Videographer for both Bride & Groom??

Patrice, on February 23, 2020 at 12:52 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

Hi fellow Brides!

So, how is this going to work? I definitely want the professional photos from the getting reasy aspect of the day before...but do we get TWO photographers or videographers??? I want the behind-the-scenes to be captured. This and the darn cake is one of the most difficult aspects of wedding planning to me! LOL

Do you mean you want one of each or two of each?

Many photographers and videographers offer second shooters as either part of their packages or for an extra fee.

We have two photographers and one videographer. I see no reason for two videographers, that’s definitely an unneeded expense. The second photographer will be with my fiancé and his guys as they get ready and then will stay through the ceremony. It is super important to me to have shots of me waking down the aisle, AND shots of when my fiancé first sees me. You really need two photographers to get both. We spent more on photography than initially budgeted but we got our engagement shoot for free, our wedding album for free and a short 1 min wedding video that we’ll share on Facebook for free as well.
I would suggest shopping around, we got a lot for what we paid for and I really like our photographer, and seeing his work in our engagement photos before the wedding really takes a lot of stress off

that was one of things that my fh and I discussed because we wanted to capture those special moments when we are getting ready and some other special moments that we would like for our special day. So we hired a photographer who will have a second shooter that will capture our special day for us. You should consider having two photographers to capture your day.

Yes, we had a photographer with a second shooter as well as videographer with second shooter. So while getting ready one photographer and videographer was with me, and the other photographer and videographer was with my wife.

We only have one photographer and one videographer. We plan on them being with the guys first getting pics and then with the girls after once our hair and make up is done with our robes on. We will both be on site getting ready so they just have to walk across the building to the other suite lol

We are having two photographers but no videography. The main photographer will mainly stay with the girls and myself as we have the most going on during preparations. The secondary photographer will float between the venue set up photo's and groomsmen getting ready with FH. I think it's totally worth it to have 2 photographers, but I'm unsure about videography.

Daughter had second shooters for both the photographer and the videographer, and thought it was extremely worthwhile. They can get different perspectives of major events (e.g., both yours and FH's face as you see each other during the processional, etc.), and they can get different things happening simultaneously. The photographer started the day at our house with the bride and BMs getting ready and the second shooter was with the guys at another location. Then when we all arrived at the venue, they could get both perspectives during first look, etc., and after the ceremony, the photographer was taking family and wedding party photos while the second shooter was covering cocktail hour and getting "background shots" of the reception space before the guests entered, etc. Same was true of the videographers. They worked well with their respective partners, but the two sets of partners also worked well with each other. (The two different vendors did not know each other prior to working daughter's wedding.) One thing daughter didn't want was the photographers/videographers to be intrusive and negatively impact the guests' views and/or experience, or be in a bunch of pictures/video. (They'd been to a wedding where the videographers literally stood between the B&G and their guests the entire time, so as guests all they saw of the main events were the videographers' backsides and glaring lights.) Daughter talked that over with her vendors and it was like they were all ghosts or something, there are very few photos or sections of the video where the other vendors can be seen in the shots, even though they were all right there covering the same events. Good luck!

I have two photographers as part of the package, I forgot how many videographers we have if it’s 1 or 2. I think it’s worth having 2 photographers so that way you have more coverage on special moments and events.

We are having a photographer and they are bring a second shooter. I highly recommend second shooters. They capture a different angle of your wedding than the main photographer, which can add some great shots!

    How we're doing is:

I get ready by 11am. From 9am until then the photographer & video team are getting detail and venue shots. At 11, they'll take "getting ready" pictures of me (getting into my dress, etc. Their thought was to have me ready and just doing lipstick or fixing hair details so that I look like my best self in the photos which I 100% agree on lol) and the girls hanging out and the final touches of all of us getting ready. Then while we finish up, they'll hop over to the groom's side and get them "getting ready" (they have it so easy...). So we're staggering it.

    Edit:

Wow so many grammatical errors. Not even going to fix them. My wedding is Saturday and I'm a mess hahahaha
