Photographer question!!

Airika, on May 6, 2020 at 5:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 15
Hey everyone!!

I am getting ready to book my photographer but I was just wondering if I needed a second photographer or not. Is having a second photographer really worth it? Feedback definitely needed!!

I think it is! they can get detail shots or other kinds of shots while the first photographer is doing something else

I had 45 people at my wedding and one photographer. I got about 900 photos and they were great. I don’t feel like I missed anything. But it might be worth it if you have a large guest list.

Daughter was extremely glad she had her photographer and his second shooter. They split up before the ceremony so the photographer was with the bride and the BMs and the second was with the guys. When we all met up at the venue, it was great because they could get two different perspectives of things like first look and the ceremony, and during the ceremony while the second was up at the altar, the primary raced up the venue stairs and got some stunning shots of the entire assembly through the upstairs windows of the venue.... Those sorts of things happened for the entire 11 hours they were with us. If pictures are especially important to you, two photographers are well worth it! Good luck! Smiley heart

Definitely! We had a husband and wife team. The wife was the main photographer. We did bride party photos prior to the ceremony so the wife was with me and my girls for getting ready photos and bridesmaids photos and the husband was with my husband and his guys for getting ready photos and groomsmen photos. Having two photographers was great in this situation because it meant we had more time for photos because one photographer didn't have to worry about taking all of those photos. Also, the second photographer is able to get photos from different angles than the first photographer so they can capture the same amount in a different way. In fact, some of my favorite photos were taken by our second photographer.

I think it depends on how many hours you’re paying to have them. If they are only doing the ceremony and reception it might not be worth it. Im sure one photographer could capture all your shots but if you are having them there when you’re getting ready having two would be worth it. One cld be with you and your BM and one could be with the groom and his GM while getting ready.

It depends on the type of day you’re planning, if it’s a moderate size wedding and schedule definitely hire the second photographer. You will need them. Your photographer can’t be in 2 places at once and get as many perspectives of shooting. It’s a big important day.

It maybe a personal preference. My fiancé and I booked two photographers. We aren’t doing a first look, wanted to keep it traditional, this will allow us to be able to capture both our reactions at the same time. We are splitting up the photographers during when we are getting ready. Also, since most photos will happen during cocktail hour, this will allow the other photographer to attend and capture photos of our guests! Hope this helps☺️!

Awesome! Thank you for the feedback, I hadn’t thought about sending the second photographer to cocktail hour to get pictures of the guests

I definitely recommend one so you can capture both of your facial expressions for those super special moments like first look, walking down the aisle, vows, mom or dad first look, and getting ready photos. Personal preference but if you’re spending money on a photographer I wouldn’t hesitate to use a second shooter

YES. Absolutely. My photographer said she never shoots alone because she doesn’t feel she can do a full job that she’s proud of without a second set of hands. Certain things like, what if someone stands up and gets in the way of the photo of your first kiss? Pretty necessary to have a second angle then. Also, mostly the walking down the aisle photos... we wouldn’t have been able to get both of our faces without a second photographer. We actually ended up with 3 photographers because last minute they brought an extra photographer trainee (no complaints here!) so check out these photos... 3 separate angles, 3 separate photographers. Which one would you give up? 🤔 basically imo, the second photographer is totally priceless!!Photographer question!! 1

We booked our photographer with a second shooter. It’s pricey but I think worth it. We’ll have about 150 people and I want the photographers to get both of our reactions ☺️

This was a must for me when choosing our photographer. I wanted a second shooter so that the guys could get pictures while they got ready as well as me and my girls. Plus second shooters can get different angles and perspectives of certain events so you can see different views of everything.

I went for two shooters to ensure they capture both of our initial reactions at the altar. I'm going to need my fiancee to cry and capturing that will be gold!!
