Photographer pricing

Ashley, on April 21, 2018 at 9:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 24
How much is your photographer? The photographer that I love is $3400 that includes 9 hours, a second shooter, and pictures within 30 days. I'm finding it hard to justify spending that much especially since I'm not sure if that's a good price.

Depends on location and the experience of your photographer honestly. More hours and a second shooter cost more.

Mine is slightly over what you're paying but I am getting 7 hours.

I felt it to be a good investment, but we didn't have to cut corners in other ways.

Get the photographer you can afford, without cutting into the budget for guest experience! It might help to look into other photographers in your area with a similar style and price them out too.

That is pretty close to mine, without a second shooter but it does include engagements. If you think the work is worth it. I would go for it. You don't want to worry about the quality of the photos you will receive back. I will say you can find good quality ones probably a little cheaper depending on the area you live in

It really does depend on location. I'm in upstate New York. I'm paying $1700 for a husband/wife team so two shooters, they have 10 years of wedding photography experience, engagement session, we have them for as many hours as we need them day of, all rights to photos on a flash drive. They were also recommended by another photographer I wanted who ended up unavailable for our wedding day.

If you love that photographer, go for it. It's worth it to have amazing photos to look back on after your wedding

It depends on your location. We are paying $4200 for 2 shooters & videography in NJ and that’s a pretty decent price.

Ours normally starts at $1,600 for single photographer, 6 hours, edits in a normal timeframe.

We're paying significantly less for her as our wedding photographer, but that's because we've only asked her to do group photos, couple photos, ceremony, and first dance. About 3 hours.

This is in central MN, and I did see prices ranging from $900-$3,000 depending on various factors.

I paid $2700 for unlimited time, stops, photo and video with album and a canvas. 2 photographers and 1 videographer. I’m located in the Chicago suburbs and did lots of searching. According to the reviews on Facebook, WeddingWire, the knot, and his website he has a 5 star rating. I paid in full and he gave me a discount too. My wedding is next year, can’t wait!

That seems like an average price. I’m paying $4600 for engagement shoot, 2 hours of coverage at the welcome party, and 9 hours of coverage on wedding day with 2 shooters.

Ours is $3,500 for 7 hours, an album, two shooters, 400+ individually edited photos, photos back in 6-8 weeks, and engagement photos. I looked about a month ago and they now charge $4,400 for 8 hours, but it now includes $4,400 in print credits, which is something we don’t get with our package.

Location and expertise of the photographer determines the price. I got a steal with an intermediate level photographer for $1,000. I was quoted $2,500 from a company and I'm in Chicago.

We are in new York. Our photographer is 3500. Includes a second shooter. 10 hours, all rights to photos, edited photos on a USB and online gallery, 10 by 10 wedding album, 16 by 24 canvas, and an engagement session with 50 photos. Her work is amazing and we both loved her the instant we met her, so for us it was a no brainer. Photos are one of our top priorities so we are willing to spend the money for a great photographer.

I am paying $1000 for two shooters, five hours. I am using hat time to take group photos and ceremony photos. I didn’t think candid random reception shots were worth paying for extra hours.

Ours is 3300, for 8 hours for 1st photographer, 4 hrs for second. Engagement pics, a canvas print and a 30pg album. We got a wedding show deal, but we are in MD, where everything is expensive.

$6000 for a similar deal. Washington, D.C. He was a bit more even by DC standards but I wanted an experienced artistic style wedding photographer. He's one of the best in the country with many, many awards to his name so we spurged.

Yea, when I was looking up photographers, I was literally floored by the prices I kept seeing. We are in the Chicago Suburbs and our venue recommended the photographer that they do business with. We got super lucky and was able to catch a sale that they were having. We got 10 hours of coverage for $595 (a 1195 value) and then got a videographer with the same company for 895. So we are paying $1490 for ours

I passed on a videographer, but our photographer for 8 hours, 2 shooters is $1,500. So I think we saved some money with who we went with. I'm in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area too.
