Photographer ghosted me??

Ladies, have you ever had this happen to you 3 months before your wedding? The photographer that we picked sounded great! Met with her, in constant communication with her. The day of our engagement session, she was nowhere to be found. Called 5 times, left a voicemail, and emailed her 3 times as well. I would have totally understood if an emergency came up and she wasn't going to make it, but I haven't heard anything in a week. Now, even if I do hear from her there's no way we can still use her for our wedding. Missing engagement session is one thing, but the possibility of missing the wedding?! That's just SO stressful to even think about. So, I guess I'm on the hunt for a new photographer. Goodbye to my deposit to this one.

So sorry to hear this. Do you have a contract?
Hope you can find a more reliable photographer ASAP. Ask friends, co-workers, family, etc. for a good recommendation.

Since she didn't show up for your engagement session, you might be able to get your deposit back, since she's in breach of the contract. Read over the details carefully, in case. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Ugh.

I would threaten legal action for breaking your contract. You should, at minimum, get your deposit back.

I’m going through something similar with a vendor and while we are 8 months out, I’m ready to just say screw it and cut ties. We paid our deposit but at this point I’m so uncomfortable with this person it’s not worth hunting them down - I’ll eat the money and hope we find someone more reliable

Yep! we waited there for about 30 minutes. never called, or emailed. I called her while waiting again, and it went straight to voicemail.

At this point, you should cut ties. Because honestly if you don't flow with a vendor, its going to cause you so much stress as the wedding approaches! you have plenty of time to find someone who you vibe better with! I wish you the best of luck!

I will be doing something to get that deposit back. weddings are so expensive as it is, i don't need shady people on my vendors list. it's just not acceptable at this point!

Yeah, my fiance and i read it over, and it said if due to illness, or whatnot, and they weren't able to find a replacement photographer, we should be subject to get our money back, i feel like not showing up is a way to get yourself fired and a refund is required. good thing we didn't pay them in full!

Yeah, we have a signed contract ! we were in communication all the time, and then all of a sudden, nothing. yeah i am going to contact the photographer my brother used for his wedding and hope he has availability.
