Photographer down payment

Deposits are usually outlined within the contract itself- there isn’t a magic number for all photographers. I would check your signed contract; if it states deposit amount(s) I’d follow that. Some vendors want a single deposit at booking with the rest of the payment X number of days prior to event or on the day of event- it really just depends

Mine is asking for 1/3 as down payment. In searching, the all require deposits. Some a few hundred to half of the cost, but I never encountered one that required all the money up front
