Photobooth - How long to rent?

BreJá, on December 1, 2011 at 11:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Hello ladies (and gents),

I tasked my BMs to research photobooths and most companies ask how long we are wanting the booth for. I am having 60-70 guest. I got a quote for $275 for 2 hours. From first glance, that's a great price, but is two hours enough time for our guests to take pics? I don't want to pay for hours that end up going unused because the guests were able to take pics in a short amount of time. How many hours should I request? What's a good price range for a photobooth? The wedding location is Sacramento, CA. Thank you in advance!

That's a good price though. Mine is $650 for the 3 hours.

Damn! Is the booth made out of gold?? LOL jk. That is really steep, though. Do you get scrapbook supplies or props?

Lol, maybeSmiley smile. There is a scrapbook, props and DVD. I checked out all the ones in my area and it was the best price other than the home made booths.

Yes , most photo booths in my area are $1000-$1200 for 4 hrs!!! Does your $275 include the scrapbook and props? If so that's a great deal and I feel like 2 hours should be enough time it's a 2 min process

No, they say I can add the props for an extra $75, BUT a fellow WW member posted photobooth cutouts and I am definitely going to use those :o) I could go by the dollar store and buy scrap book stuff for them to create Smiley laugh

Speaking as a vendor, I offer full-reception time photobooths, and I find that it can take a few hours for the booth to really take off and get busy. It's often the busiest just after drinks start pouring. Smiley smile Make sure that your DJ/band/etc is prepped to announce the booth a few times (IE, "the photobooth is still open for xx hours- get in there, folks!") to rustle up users and keep in mind that if you recruit a few friends to drag the unsure folks in there, things will speed up as they discover how fun it is. Smiley laugh

Have you asked your photographer if he/she is willing/able to provide a photobooth? Many photographers do so in a "portable studio" fashion. Not all include printing, but many (like myself) include the full DVD- and most of the time, the "portable studio" booths photographers provide are much bigger than the vintage "box" style. I have a few examples of what I'm talking about on my site... here's a wedding with one: http://www.irememberforever.com/galleries/weddings/allison
