Photo Must-haves

Liz, on June 3, 2020 at 12:08 AM Posted in Planning 1 8
I'm filling out a questionnaire for my photographer and she asked about any must-have photos. The only one I can think of is a photo taken from behind as I walk down the aisle. I would love to hear more about your favorite photos from your wedding, or ideas you have about photos for your future wedding!

Family members, beloved friends, your dress, shoes, flowers, whatever your priority is. For me it would be first look photo, him before ceremony, us walking back down aisle, him and his mom and with me, with my bff, my bff from college and most importantly our grandchildren.

Make sure to list different combinations of relatives you want photos with. And make sure to get enough posed photos of just you and your husband! I love the candids but sometimes there’s so much emphasis on them you actually forget to take more of the most basic just posed photos of hou two.

I had all these ideas for photos I wanted and I ended up not getting all of them so DEFINITELY try to stick to it! Try to get some solo shots with each bridal party member cause that would be nice

Like others have suggested, I used Pinterest to get ideas of certain photos I wanted. For instance, the three photos I posted below were based on inspiration photos I found on Pinterest. They are honestly three of my favorite. I would also think about what details you want your photographer to capture. I wore my mom's diamond tennis bracelet that I love, but I forgot to have my photographer take a photo of it. I also misplaced my necklace and earrings so I don't have any photos of them. Are there any special pairings of friends or family that you want? I'm really close to my mom and my grandmother on my mom's side so I wanted a photo of just the three of us. I had that photo taken when my grandmother on my dad's side wasn't around because I didn't want to offend her that I didn't want a special photo of just her and I because I'm not as close to her. Our photographer taken photos of the bride and groom with each bridesmaid/groomsmen individually and my husband took serious and funny ones, but I only took serious ones. Looking back, I wish I had taken funny ones too as they look less posed. Do you and your fiance plan on doing a first look or waiting until the ceremony to see one another? This is important for your photographer to know ahead of time so they can plan out the timeline properly. I did a first look with my dad then one with my husband. I have seen brides do first looks with their bridesmaids as well. There are honestly tons of different photo options out there so I would even do a Google search of must have photos on your wedding day or even just look at other people's wedding photos. I know I looked at past photos our photographer has on her website to get ideas. Our photographer posts online galleries for everyone wedding she has so it made it easy to look and see what others did for their weddings.

My number one photo I want is my grooms face as I walk down the isle.
