Photo Booth- to do one or not?

Shannon, on July 30, 2019 at 10:19 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 15
At first when planing my wedding I really loved the idea of having a photo booth and since my dj handled that service for me and provided a guy to man it all night I went for it at contract time. Now that it is closer to the wedding I am thinking, do I really need a Photo Booth or is it boring and under utilized by guests? My dj is allowing me to cancel it, if that is the direction that I choose. I am a huge picture person and my fiancé does not care one way or another. Any opinions are welcome please and thank you in advance.

I think photo booths can be lots of fun! Especially if it's a keepsake guests can take home

I had one ! My guests definitely enjoyed it. I do think it could be underutilized at times or sometimes it does have a line.

We did a diy photo booth and bought some props on amazon. Total cost was $15 and I saw a lot of people use it!

We had a photo booth and it was a hit with everyone. I think it's a great source of entertainment for people of all ages and serves as a favor too for your guests. Plus, most photo booth companies give the couple a copy of all the pictures so that's a great way for you to remember all your guests.

We are doing a magic mirror photo booth. I think it is still a fun idea and keeps guests entertained.

They have been a big hit at every wedding I've ever been to. I am also putting a couple of disposable cameras on the tables for people to take pictures with as well.

We just attended a wedding that had one and it was a blast. The booth was busy for almost the entire night and they had about 120 people at their wedding. I also enjoyed having that keepsake.

Thanks everyone for your comments and input on photo booths, I really appreciate it. My main concern is what Cassie mentioned, the long lines and that was for a wedding of 120 people. Mine will be minimum 160 and the last thing I’d want is people spending the night in line waiting for a keepsake photo from a booth and not enjoying the night dancing, socializing, drinking or not, just for that when I have my photographer all night and everyone uses their phones. I also purchased my favors already too, so yes these are a nice secondary keepsake, is it necessary for the extra expense and the chance you lose the party for pictures, if that makes sense. I guess that was what my question should been geared toward as well. Thanks again everyone, you are all amazing!

I think they are SO fun and they allow your guests to break from the dance floor to go grab a picture! It'll also be great to go through the big album of pics and see how much fun your guests had!
