"Photo Booth Strip" Save the Dates

Marissa, on October 26, 2009 at 7:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

I saw a really cute idea for save the dates and I need some suggestions! I want to make them like the photo strips you get from photobooths at fairgrounds/boardwalks...but I obviously can't print 150 from an actual photobooth. I was thinking we could take a couple from the photobooth and then have them copied at a kinkos or something...but then i'd have to find special envelopes for them to fit perfectly...and idk how good they'll actually "copy". Any ideas or suggestions????

I think this is a great idea! I want to have a photo booth at our reception. You can probably talk to one of those photo booth rental places. I'm sure they would be happy to help. Try ShutterBooth. I know the people in the Vegas office and they are SUPER nice.

Or if you are good at graphic design you can take pictures you already have and create a look a like of one of the photo booth pics.

    Hope it works out!

I am thinking of two different things. One would be to get an actual strip of photos from the booth and then use a high quality setting on a scanner to get a good copy. If you or someone you know has photoshop they can fit a bunch of them on a regular 8x10 piece of photo paper to print at home or send them somewhere. It's cheaper this way because you're paying for one 8x10 and getting about 16 copies of the photostrip you want. Or you could mimic the photo booth by putting up a plain blue or grey fabric background and take the photos yourself using the self timer and then edit them together. OK, one more thought. Print the strip and hand write a cute message on a 4x6 card with the strip diagonal across it. Cute squiggly lines around the edge of the photos, maybe a lipstick mark, mustaches/fake heart tattoos drawn on, etc. Then scan this and get them printed like a regular photo--maybe on matte paper instead of glossy so it looks more realistic.

You can scan the pictures, then crop the picture, then copy-paste multiple rows on one sheet to save paper=money, Then save the sheets on a disc or flash drive, finally take them to a near by office store (exampleSmiley atonishedtaples) have them print them out on photo paper and TA-DA!!! I've done similar things to reproduce pictures yet still make them look like they're picture(the paper makes the difference. Also, you can ask to have glossy paper. ITS THE BEST! Good luck. And yeah I also saw this idea. LOVED IT! also, when hand writting your info get a really nice color sharpe(marker) and practice your writting.

You can do it on http://www.lunapic.com/

It is free and under "Effects" they have a Photobooth option so all of the work is done for you and you just have to upload the pictures.

I heard of this idea too! i love that people are thinking out of the box when it comes to these. I have seen quite a few similar Save the Dates and I am looking for something original myself. These are all great ways to make it happen Smiley smile

I did something close to that, but I did as a magnet photo booth. The look great, very cute. I don’t know what is you budget for it, but if you need more than 100, they cost 1.27. they look great and already come with the envelop. Take a look to in their website, they have some other great ideas there! Good luck!

Hi, I actually rent photo booths out and love the idea of using the pictures for your save the dates! However, my booth doesn't print strips, but it prints 4 different images on a 4x6 piece of photo paper, which would solve the envelope issue. If you rent the photo booth out for your wedding reception then we would be willing to do the Save the Date pictures for free! I could then burn them onto a disc or transfer them to a flash drive for you to have immediately. Since none of our pictures are copyright protected you can upload the images to Kodak.com, Walgreens, etc... and have as many images printed as you would like for around .15 each. Our prints are very professional and great quality. You can also add text to the bottom your pictures! Email or call if your interested, anyone! To see sample pictures or to learn more about what I do check out our website. www.partybooths.com

I'm having a photo booth at my reception. The photo booth vendor created our Save the Date postcards. They have the photo strip pictures on one side of the card and event information on the other. They are so cute! The vendor could take the pictures or you could use your engagement pictures. They were very inexpensive. You didn't need an envelope and I was able to mail them with a post card stamp - only 28 cents!

We own a photobooth - You can do what you said and then take them to Kinkos Sony Color Station and make 150 prints - You can also order custom envelopes usually through a high end stationary store ! It sounds like its getting expensive ! You could also hire a photobooth company for your wedding and maybe they would take the photo and print them for you !

Personalized save-the-date postcards are a super-cute and low budget way to get the word out! We make save-the-date postcards or folded cards with your photo strip. We will also send you the high resolution digital file if you prefer to make your own design.

If you're having a photo booth at your reception, photo strip save-the-dates and thank you cards are a great way to tie everything together. Just don't forget to make some really unique date signs!

I have a photobooth company in NY. If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to put together a package that included save the dates. We are happy to offer out of the box ideas as well... We can work with most budgets and packages usually start around $800. Check out the website at www.timelesstalesphoto.weebly.com or e-mail me at ******************@*****.***.
