Photo booth questions

Patricia, on June 14, 2017 at 1:56 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

So after long and thoughtful process and going back and fourth we decided to do a photo booth. I have a few questions and need opinions. 1. Should we have it run for 3 or 4 hrs? Vendor recommended 3 our reception is from 4 to 9. 2. Would it be tacky if we did no other favor? 3. What is everyone's honest opinion of photo booths?

    1. 3 hours is plenty

    2. No. We did photobooth as favours. Much better than some crappy chocolate favour that half your guests will forget to take home anyway.

    3. Photobooths are great. Your guests will absolutely love them. They may have taken away from the dance floor at my wedding (still not sure if I can blame the photobooth of not) but still my guests had a blast. That's all that matters.

Your wedding will come and go in a flash and all you will have is memories and photos at the end of the day. I will always love our photobooth photos of our guests being absolute idiots. I have an absolutely classsic photo of my 99 year old grandma even getting into it. Photos like that are priceless. It is well worth the money.

3 hours should be plenty. I do not think it would be tacky because if the photobooth is going to print them out a picture that would be considered a keepsake. The last wedding I went to only had a photobooth and not other favors. No one seemed bothered by it and I personally think it would be okSmiley smile

I think 3 hours would suffice. Photo booth pictures are really fun favors! Definitely pro-photo booth Smiley smile

Thanks ladies! And yes they get one and so do we. The pictures they get are 4x6 not the typical photo booth type. I really liked that part. We also get a "guest book" which I was thinking of just doing that instead of a traditional guest book.

I had mine for 4 hours 8:30pm-12:30am, and everyone used it all night.

I did not have favors, the photo booth print out was the favor to guests. It isn't TACKY. Everyone loved the photo booth - even my 80 year old Aunt was all up in there.

3 hours is fine (we had our's for 4 hours but the extra hour was thrown in for free basically).

We used this as our favor - worked out perfect!

Everyone loved the photo booth and I've always enjoyed them at other weddings I've been to. Good choice!

ETA - We also used the album/guest book the photo booth included (with copies of every picture taken in it) as our guest book - we didn't feel the need to do anything other than that. Win, win!

Agreed with all other PPs but just wanted to jump in to add that we gave magnetic frames for the photobooth to add to the favor. We added an insert thanking everyone for coming and to enjoy the photobooth. I believe we paid $30 for 100 magnetic frames that look great with the insert Smiley smile

Photo booth providers often have many package levels and options. I can tell you the package we get booked for way more (10 to 1) than anything else at weddings is a 4 hour package, red carpet during the time guests are arriving (no props during this, custom personalized green screen background- more of a portrait booth), then an hour down time during dinner and toasts, them reopen for 3 hours of silly fun.
