Valarie, on October 5, 2017 at 11:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Anyone do an actual rental photobooth or a Polaroid camera to pass around to guests to take pics?? Thoughts on pros or cons for each??

I was originally going to do like a poloroid/guest book station. But it would have cost maybe around $2-300 for EVERYTHING. Then I looked into photobooths and they are about $3-500 for 4 hour rental (in the area I am getting married) and the package includes 2 sheets of each set of pictures the guest take. So one for them and the other goes in a guest book that they can sign. I really liked that idea bc I love looking back at pictures and I know the guests will enjoy the pictures too.

We are doing polaroids. Borrowed a camera from a friend, bought a nice book on etsy. Seems straightforward. Did it at another friends wedding and loved it. Con - film is expensive.

I just decided on hiring a professional photo booth company. I felt like the film would be too expensive and defeat the purpose of lowering costs. I also felt like It may get chaotic since I have 150 guest

Some of my cousins and my sister had a photo booth and it was always a bit hit. It's nice that they get a picture to take home and you also get a copy. At one wedding they printed off the 2nd copy and put them in a bound book for the couple and you could write a message to the couple on the page right next to your pictures and I thought that was neat.

For Polaroids you never know what you are going to end up with. If you are having kids in attendance they could just run around with them all night and you don't get any good pictures. And then there's always the chance of someone taking it to the bathroom for an inappropriate pic...not worth it IMO

We are doing Polaroid guestbook and having extra film for the guests to take pics to keep as well. For our area this is cheaper than a booth would have been, by a couple hundred dollars, and we like that we can use the camera after the wedding (although my 11yr old daughter is calling dibs on it already, lol)
