Photo booth or no?

Mrs. Jones, on December 28, 2017 at 2:12 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 21
I'm having a fun dance party reception with 120 guests and a good bit of those guests are college aged (I'm 21). I was wondering if it is worth getting a photo booth? They seem really fun and the one my DJ offered makes an extra copy of the pictures for a photo album for the Bride and Groom. But I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money?

Did you have one or are you planning on having one? If you didn't, do you regret?

We decided on one... Every wedding that I have been to that had one I enjoyed it. We get copies as well which is a bonus. If it is in your budget and theme why not

We're doing one. I found at previous family weddings, some of my family that doesn't care for dancing absolutely loved the photo booth and props. I've read on previous posts that some people find them to be overdone, but honestly I like the variety in entertainment. If it's in your budget, go for it!

It's always a huge hit in our friend group. Especially once people start drinking.

It's definitely fun, but it's a know your crowd kind of thing in terms of whether it's worth it or not. If you have the crowd that would be into taking pictures like that, go ahead. Sounds like you're prepared to do it and have a feeling that your guests would enjoy it.

My DJ gave us an excelllent deal. 7 hours with a DJ and an another photo attendant for 3 hours for $1000. I would recommend one because every wedding I been to, the photo booth is one of the biggest hit. Also we are getting photo strip sleeves off amazon as our favors for the guests.

I’ve been to weddings with and without one. FH and I have chosen to have one at our wedding, though. We love the idea of our guests taking pictures with silly props and making sure they have that memory to look back on.

The last two weddings I've attended had one & people only paid attention to the photo booth. We're skipping it & purchased Polaroid cameras.

I think you have to know your crowd. My crowd loves photo booths, so I knew I had to get one for my wedding. I will be having it for 3 hours only though.

The weddings I have been to with one have been fun, but not fun enough for us to want to spend money on one for our own wedding.

To be honest, we don’t even have the photo strips from the booths at other’s weddings anymore. 🤷‍♀️

We aren't doing one but our crowd won't miss it. When it's at receptions, sometimes we use them and sometimes we don't. We didn't want to spend the extra cash on it and instead added another appetizer to our menu. We will have a good DJ and an open bar, should be plenty of entertainment for the guests.

It depends on what you like and if your guests would enjoy it. Personally, I am not a fan of having them at weddings, but I’ve also seen them done really nicely.

We had one and it was a total hit. From the start I knew a photo booth was one thing I really wanted. With our package we got copies of all the pictures and a photo album that guests could write notes next to their pics and personalize the whole thing. I especially liked having the fun, goofy photo booth pics in addition to the professional pics from our photographer.
